Fix the Offensive Line

HAHA, it's just a statement saying how bad I want the OL fixed. I of course wouldn't spend 40M on Lineman. Got to have money for Berry and Jefferies if we have a chance.

I revised that post with some good info showing it should only cost half our cap to fully fix the line

 

He's a great OL coach though.

 

1. Bring in FA C, RT, and possibly G (draft for depth)

Lewan gets one last Crack at proving he is the franchise LT. He better start taking his career more seriously.

Shwenke should be a depth player at best, wouldn't even care if he was straight cut. Dude is never healthy, and when he is, he is average at best ... should spend the resources to get a legit starting Vet Center. We need someone who can anchor the entire unit.

RT is a problem. Would like to see it addressed in FA. Should bring in a legit starter.

We need to bring in someone to compete at G. Bell, Poutasi, Warmack, and FA can all compete for the 2 spots. I'd also draft some later round guy to compete/provide better depth ... make it abundantly clear to Warmack that he is not guaranteed the starting spot, and needs to work his ass off for it.


2. Employ better schemes to account for the weak links.


3. Hope like hell that Grimm is better than Bostad/Matthews as OL coach ... I'm not sold on Grimm, but that is irrelevant at this point

I don't recall our OL being a huge issue during his tenure. Certainly was never as bad as it has been these last few years. Of course talent comes into play as well.
