We should definitely be looking to replace Griffin, and FS Darian Thompson from Boise State is a really nice prospect at FS. HARD hitter, plays FAST, good tackler and a ball hawk. He's over aggressive at times which leads to missed plays, but damn I like his game tape. Head to draft breakdown, he's an absolute animal vs Hawaii. Virginia game tape is a good example of his good and bad. He also was very noticeable in the senior bowl.

Could Searcy really play FS? If so, that makes Jeremy Cash, Vonn Bell and several other SS draft options as well.

Ramsey will play CB first I think. Just a much more valuable position... Maybe FS and move him into nickel when needed.

The good news is that there are a number of FS in this draft that could immediately out play Griffin.

I like Jalen Mills from LSU.

I'm probably going to get killed on this but I don't think we need JR as bad as people think. We had a really good Defense this season. Injures killed us. Our D kept us in a lot of games this year. I agree we do need some secondary help cuz I've never disliked someone like Coty ever in my life. And I've never even met the guy. He got picked on constantly. Cox JMac Harris were all hurt. And our offense was run, run, Te slant all year. Offense is where we need to go. Tunsil while not a sexy pick it's a good one. Panthers lost manly because of there o line. I think Oher was in another world. We have to protect MM. Plus I would rather us sign like Jenkins, or Sean S and draft a Jeremy Cash in the 2nd or 3rd

The problem is, if you sign Jenkins, it's gonna be for 8+mil/yr. Realistically, the Panthers keep Norman leaving you with jenkins who is 28 and Smith who is 29. Realistically, they probably get 4-5yr deals. Keep in mind they both play on defenses with a hellacious pass rush. Are they gonna play as well here? So, hard to get either of them since there are so few CB's who are good, they are still very expensive for their worth, not great age wise considering our likelihood to be competing for a SB in the next 2 years. That would also give us a cb rotation of McCourty - 28 ($8.8mil cap), SSmith - 29 (8mil), Cox - 29 ($5.8mil cap)? Certainly that's better than a respectable CB trio, but they are all overpaid, all will be in decline by the team is a real playoff contender as this plugs a nice hole, but doesn't really elevate the D. It's also not great to have 3 starters around the same age all making a lot of money at 1 position. it also doesn't give us too much injury security as one of the main problems of players nearing 30 - besides declining play - is an increase in injuries and an increase in the severity of the injury. 3 starting CB's all in that range makes me nervous and doesn't push up our time table for competing for something big. If you just want to get respectable, you can do that. But we should be aiming higher!

The problem with tunsil is...we shouldn't need him. We certainly can and should go after an OT in free agency whether it be Glenn (Buffalo is currently over the cap) or Okung (who is representing himself and already has a ring...sounds like he's leaving and wants another big payday!) who are LT's and likely gonna be available in free agency. Then you have a player like Schwartz who is likely to be available, was a 2nd round pick, and looks like a very solid RT. If our HC and OL coach think Lewan is our LT, you DON'T 'waste' a 1st overall pick on another LT to play at RT. Could tunsil be the next Tyrone Smith? Yes. But are you gonna force Lewan to move to RT (which may mean we need to trade him...and again be looking for a RT...again)? Do we need to?

Everyone and their Grandmother wants to protect Mariota, but you don't need a 1st and 10th overall pick to do that!

One of the reasons I'd WANT to sign Josh Norman and Eric Berry in FA and then get Jalen Ramsey in the draft is that we'd get a HUGE upgrade in our secondary. Add a good NT, 3rd pass rusher, and ILB and the D is as talented as any in the league. At the same time, we could either sign a dominant LT in Glenn or Okung or go after a very solid RT and get the whole OL coached up correctly. I would also go after Alex Mack if he becomes available (and he may in a couple of ways) or fall back on Wisniewski at OC for competition and quality depth since Schwenke keeps getting injured. We could also look at getting an OG in the draft to challenge Warmack or Poutasi.

Another alternative we may see if Robinson trying to turn over a lot of the roster. We may see him drop further back in round 1 than you might expect if he can pick up a lot of high quality picks. Would give him a lot of ammo to address both lines and some pass rush, secondary, rb or WR.

His best attribute is his versatility. Play him how you want!

@Gut, are you against Ramsey at #1 if that is in fact where we draft? If so, who would you take?
