If you dont think Manning valued Elways experience and was the determining factor to him signing in Denver then IDK what to say... Its pretty basic tho.

didn't say that. just don't think Elway's persona was the major factor he went there as you suggested in prior post. manning is too cerebral for that. I'm purporting the major reason was that more personnel pieces were in place that made Denver more likely than other destinations (including us) for him to get another Lombardi. ( as evidenced by 2 SB's and a Lombardi).

    Now THAT is pretty basic.

I think, initially, Peyton would only bring value as a figurehead. As he learned the business better from all aspects - salary cap management, talent evaluation and aquisition, and so forth, then he could begin to participate in running the team at a higher level. To walk in right off the field... I am not sure there is any evidence he is qualified for a complete hands on participation at this juncture.

Only want Payton to be in charge of our concession stands. He doesn't have any F.O. experience...doesn't make sense. He has experience with Pizza outside of throwing the ball.....this makes no sense at all.

I agree. And let qualify one thing first- I'm not a Peyton worshipper. But I do recognize the draw he has here and I respect that he has always presented himself as a consummate professional, in his preparation, his performance and to the public. His association with this organization would be a much needed "shot in the arm" for quality control, "buzz", and legitimacy.

I'll say it again. I'd reconsider my financial withdrawal if he were to be brought on board in some capacity, especially if his role were considerably involved in personnel acquisition and/or coaching.

I don't think the timing is right for him to come in, nor do I think he'd genuinely be interested unless there was some type of arrangement in which he'd be well compensated and guaranteed to have significant influence.

It would have to be an equity deal or I don't see it. Of course that would get Goodell as happy as JC when we cut Griff.

Sure, he's going to say that cause she ultimately had to sign off on it, but that doesn't mean he wasn't the guy baking the pie, if you will. She just stuck her finger in and said "good enough."

I don't trust a damn thing that man says. He was SPECIFICALLY tasked to find and hire a new CEO. He found himself....hiding in a tree (Lorax)

Then, in the presser he gave during the fake coaching "search" he started off by saying they judge a Head Coach by Wins and Losses...then followed that up with excuses as to why they would yet again ignore that standard of measure. He's a fraud. Period.
