How about that OT prospect Dallas signed AFTER the draft with a 1st round grade. Has he been terrible?

How much would it have cost us to move from the the top of round 4 to the bottom of round 3 and taken him? Not much!

What makes you think Bosa can play OLB? He looks like he only has short area quickness. And a guy with 5 sacks is not exactly a dominant pass rusher. Kikaha dropped to round 2 (and was a reach at that) because of his athleticism at the combine. He ran a 4.9 40 which is SLOW for a MLB...let alone an edge rusher.

I think it is better than 50/50 Bosa drops if his athleticism isn't where it needs to be to play 3-4 OLB unless he shows up at 290lbs. But then he'll be compared to Buckner and probably lose that argument!

And Derek Wolfe doesn't play OLB for the Broncos. he's a DE so he doesn't keep Miller or Ware fresh...but Ray does.

Yes, if they look like Von Miller or Ware. Noah Spence is the closest to them in this draft and we aren't taking him #1. As for a Boas type at DE, we could just sign Derek Wolfe in FA!!!

Watt wasn't 'nearly' the prospect Bosa is? Watt never had a college season like Bosa had 2 years ago, but Watt was getting better and is a freakish athlete in the size, length, explosion, power, passion department. Bosa isn't getting better and after the combine, I don't think Bosa will be considered a #1 overall type player. Compare him to Dodd or more importantly, Buckner and tell me why Bosa is better?

I will be very interested to see how Bosa fares athletically at the combine! And watch tape of all the 1st rnd grade DL in this draft...lots of them can defeat a double team. No doubt Bosa has great hands, is a passionate high motor player, but he doesn't look like an elite pass rusher once he faces bigger and stronger OL. But we'll see how athletic he is and his size and length. If he compares to Watt, we take him.

I would take that a step further and point out the top defense the last 3 years has gone to the SB and should have won all 3! Carolina has an excellent D as well!

When was the last time a RT was taken #1 overall? Eric Turner was probably the highest DB I can think of and I think he went #2. How high would you take Sean Taylor or Richard Sherman?

The problem is...is he JJ Watt in college...or the pros! He only had 5 sacks this year and one of those was against a RB trying to block him! And where do you play him? He's too small to play DE in a 3-4 at 275lbs. For a guy significantly smaller than Watt, I doubt he matches Watt's athleticism at the combine.

As the first overall pick, Clowney's a bust so far!!! He's been in the league for 2 years and has a grand total of 4.5 sacks!!!

It's funny, your last sentence is exactly one of the reasons why we should NOT take Bosa at #1!!!

Bosa is widely deemed to be scheme versatile, but you know more than everyone else about what he is capable of, so I digress.

Idk if it matters what scheme he plays, but do you like the idea of hiring someone for a job they haven't done before? Personally I do hire people like that then train them, but not 1st in the nfl draft.. that's too much risk for me when Charles Woodson 2.0 is sitting there for us to take..
