The key to that method is to burn off any old drippings/grime before doing the pizza. Those flavors are fine for burgers etc. but you don't want smoked pizza that tastes like old chicken - and the pizza dough soaks that stuff up like crazy.

best ways to do chicken on pizza:
    1.) Grilled BBQ Chicken
    2.) Chicken parm (breaded chicken)
3.) Cesar salad with grilled chicken

I had Papa's Chicken Parm pizza, the chicken was not that great, very bland tasting and it being breaded didn't taste right consistency wise. Their grilled chicken is much better. I am dying for a bbq chicken pizza yo!

No doubt - you just don't want "smoked pizza dough" that tastes like carbonized BBQ sauce from last winter.

So Crud...been back to Brooklyn Brothers? We tried the pizza there when it was Brother's Pizza and it was ok. I assumed it was just a name change from Brothers to Brooklyn Brothers, but sounds like it was ownership change and everything. Wondering if it is holding up.
