New England was a RB away from the title, he was the missing link and it was in season. Dillon was very productive and hadn't had any injuries. Murray had one good(great) year and has been mostly credited that towards his OL. Philly wanted rid of him so badly that they gave him away for a 6 and a half.

But hey, we have a big time RB for our crappy team.

After double checking, it was in response to someone asking him what he would want the trade to be for. Someone posted it on facebook and everyone assumed (including me) that it was true. He did say he expects it to be low compensation. Sorry guys.

I would be shocked if this was anything more than a 6th rounder. Eagles wanted to shed cap space, and Titans basically took on that cap hit for a guy they didn't want. No leverage for Philly unless another team drove up the price of the bidding.

    Isn't exactly wrong.

Eagles are in a complete fire sale, good chance he was gone even if he wanted to stay.

Corey Dillon had 541 yards the year before New England traded for him. Try again.

If we don't fix our Oline, then I will agree with you that the trade was a waste of a 6th round pick and some money. But at this point, with all the cap space we have, getting Murray for a 6th round pick is pretty damn good. The upside is high and the risk is very low.

For the love of god we better not be paying him more than 3mil per year

It's probably going to be double that. He's not going to go from making 8mil/year to 3. That's just common sense.

I'm not for or against the trade. If it's really a 5th or 6th round pick, no big deal. As for paying him big money, oh well, as long as he produces. Rather them spend the money than sit on it.
We shall see how it works out.
