Think about it this way: with the 204th pick in the 2016 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans select, Demarco Murray. Running back.

That's what just happened essentially. Who cares about his contract. We're long on cap room, but short on talent. Where the hell else were we gonna find a guy even close to him? We'd have to fight the rest of the league for any good FA and I'm not sold on any of them actually being any better.

Also, how good was that Cowboy running game without him last year? I think the OL graded out ok, but the team as a whole was terribly ineffective running the ball. To be really effective running the ball you have to have a back that fits your scheme and an OL that can move guys. We need to improve the OL, no doubt. But I have a feeling we will with FA and draft picks. But we also needed someone who could run with power and hit the hole! Not run into the backs of our OL or trip over blades of grass.

I like the move. Anything we can do to improve the roster I'm all for it. Murray is a major upgrade from the bums we have on the roster currently. We just need to fix our Oline problems and we could have a solid offense.

Those five potatoes, while dormant, have grown spuds by now. Much more difficult to navigate.

23 pages and we still don't know if this trade was good or disastrous. All depends on the compensation.

No this is exactly what NE would do. Trade for a declining asset that's got a few seasons left and will sign another decent sized contract somewhere else. This is how you land those comp picks in the future.

I don't like this move today but in 2 years maybe we have an extra 3rd round pick because of it... Really depends on what we gave up. NE does this all the time with late round picks and end up flipping them into better comp picks later

Maybe you don't like this particular move, but I can't really see how anyone can't be excited about what could be in store.

Almost universally this forum agrees that moves will need to be made to become a winner.

Me: the Titans traded for Demarco Murray last night
    Wife: oh my god, awesome!
Me: do you know who that is?
Wife (awkward look): no....but it seemed like I should be excited...what position is he?

    Lol. I'll take it.

Which is exactly why the Titans better the hell not have given anything substantial up for him.

The Eagles are basically begging teams to take the players Chip Kelly signed to big-money deals off their hands.

If the Titans gave up any more than a conditional 5th-rounder for Murray, they got fleeced.

    I've read anything from a 3rd to a 6th.

If it's a third, I will be pissed. 4th, isn't ideal but it all depends on on field performance.

If it's the 6th I've heard, JR is off to a hot start.
