I'm not entirely sure he was brought in simply to play center. I like Quinton Spain's potential at left guard, but he isn't a lock for that spot. What they are doing is breeding competition which can do nothing but help the offensive line as a whole. You can't knock that in any way. Ben Jones can contribute as a center or as a left guard. Both positions would be improved with him there. That's why I'm excited.

Lol I was thinking exact same
Thing - you'd think this guy was Willie Roaf ...
Guess whenever the Titans sign someone it's a good thing? Rotoworld says he's a middling lineman at best last year 22 out of 40 qualifies - granted he played hurt I'll give you that ... And he can start and is versatile so I "like" the move

And it was his first year at center . . . guard to center is a tough transition. But we could still go after a center, because he can play left guard as well. He is a good signing, not a great one. He gives us flexibility, he is a solid player, and he is young.

You or anyone else know why there is 0 news on the Titans being interested in the 2 top centers ; Alex Mac and Wisnewski?? Would fill a huge need, they have all kinds of money and haven't even heard that the Titans have sniffed either guy yet ...

I swear some of you people are dumb.

As crap as Webster was, he drafted Warmack, Lewan, Poutasi, signed Levitre, Bell, Oher, etc. To say he didn't try to address needs is utter nonsense.

Mack is 30 years old which means the front office might have wanted a guy who can be a more long-term option at center. Wisniewski is no better than Ben Jones in my opinion. He is more of a name, and he is a steady center but to me, Ben Jones has the higher ceiling.

He is a solid, not spectacular addition. I had him as 2A for me as far as centers available in FA. Mack was #1 and Jones/Wisniewski were 2A and 2B.

I don't believe we sign Mack. As of right now, I like the offensive line as follows:

    LT: Taylor Lewan
    LG: Quinton Spain
    OC: Ben Jones
    RG: Chance Warmack
    RT: Jeremiah Poutasi

I would like for the Titans to draft Tunsil #1 overall, which would make this our starting OL (in my opinion):

    LT: Laremy Tunsil
    LG: Quinton Spain
    OC: Ben Jones
    RG: Chance Warmack
    RT: Taylor Lewan

Not bad at all, truth be told. Warmack still improving. Both left and right tackle get upgraded in this scenario. Center also gets upgraded, but not with a stud. Spain is the X-factor. Loads of potential IMO.
