The Texans are on borrowed time. That won't be able to ride Watts jock forever. They are an average team at best that won over half their games playing bad AFC South teams. They needed a QB and they got one. He isn't great and could suck. They don't have a ton a talent. They have Watt and Hopkins. Lamar Miller isn't special. Another scat back. He isn't a healthy Foster which is what Texan fan thinks. The Texans won't sniff the playoffs this season.

There was also the potential that osweiler didn't want to show the Broncos any respect after the benching. He may not have signed there, regardless of what they did.

Denver DID extend him an offer which overpays him. So it's not like Elway passed on him.

not a huge Osweiler fan, but hes better than anything the texans have had, he seems like he will be Schaub 2.0, have a solid season or 2 and then flame out and end up a back up again.

It's a QB driven league, and also there is a lack of good to great QBs. All supply and demand. People overpay just for the potential of having a good QB.

There's also the possibility that he got scared. Didn't want to be the guy after a legend. The "guy after" usually bombs.

its the nature of the league

every year the next QB up for a contract will see stupid amounts of money, just get used to it being this way

remember Kaepernick and what that contract did for the QB's...

Absolutely. I already like osweiler. He is smart, at the very least. not enough reasons for him to stick around in Denver. There is only one winner out of this whole situation. And his name is Brock Osweiler.

I would predict him to be below average in Houston, but he's already the winner before the first snap. Not many people can leverage so little skill and experience, and turn it into a ludicrous money deal.

Not many people back their way into millions of dollars out of nowhere.

I love watching the Texans and Jags spend wildly in FA. How often do teams that "win" FA
ever translate. Everybody wants to point to the year the Broncos got Ware and Talib but I don't see guys of that caliber in this FA class.

Seven pages. I read them all. After several posts, I had to scroll back up to make sure this was the Titans board.

I remember from 2002~2007 I use to argue with Texans fans, "You ridicule & belittle every move they make, yet they beat us (sweep us) every year."

Reading this thread I can't help but think the same.

Who knows what kind of QB Osweiler will turn out to be? Judging by Elway's reaction since losing him, I'd wager at least he saw enough to believe Osweiler gave them a reasonable chance to repeat. It would be safe to assume Rick Smith & O'Brien saw as much.

They could be wrong. Most likely they are wrong. But the Texans beat the Titans with the likes of Hoyer & Fitzpatrick... remember him?

Best thing to ever happen to Fitzpatrick was being released by the Titans. You didn't even have the foresight to see he had trade value. You're probably still telling yourselves you did the right thing & most of you probably believe it. Winning & losing doesn't matter as much as appearance & your "fantasy team." Losers thinking.

Well, whatever. Here's to wishing the AFCSouth as a whole takes a major step forward. That we all kick Bronco, Chief, Charger, & Raider ass. I'm tired of being talked about as the weakest division in the AFC.

May the best team win the division & the 2nd a Wild Card.
