With teams having 2 speed rusher now, and other blitzers ..i feel there won't be alot of difference which side the tackel is on! Except for the run game.;-))) Right side still run side . So maybe in future right side will be the Best player?;-))

 

Its true, many defenses now line up their strongest pass rusher to face the RT since historically that is the weaker player. Blindside or not, pressure is pressure. If you can get to the QB quick it throws everything off. Case in point, Cameron Wake lining up against Poutasi on the right side (instead of going after the blindside) and disrupting Mariota all day. Bookend tackles are becoming the standard. That being said, I dont understand why we would move Lewan instead of just putting Tunsil (or any new player) at RT to start.

Key word is hope. Who knows stranger things have happened but I wouldn't hold my breath it happens either.

 

Teams value OL too much IMO. Especially homegrown ones. Gone in 18-27 range, but stranger things have happened.

 

Good ots will be there at 33. We have 2 high picks in this draft. We need a shutdown/game changing player in rd 1. We will have a shot at a very good player at 33.

 

That's true but will that very good player be a OT is the question if we don't take Tunsil? This is coming from someone who wants Ramsey or a trade back. I wish we would bring in Beachum for a look.

 

Back on topic, I believe Vasquez visits tomorrow.

 

I agree with you on port coaching, etc and about Tunsil not being a completely clean prospect. However maybe he isn't running guys off the ball consistently because he is in a zone blocking scheme at Ole Miss? You probably know more about that than I do. I actually felt like his run blocking was more consistent than his pass pro but it's been a couple months since I last saw him.

I'm not sure Conklin or those others will be available in the 2nd, maybe but OT normally have 3-4 guys go in round 1 alone.

Like I said, I like Ramsey and Tunsil it's just a matter of depth in the draft. DB might be the deepest position in this draft next to DL so that's why I mentioned Tunsil being the pick.
