Tunsil would play LT and Lewan would move to RT. That's the prevailing thought by everyone who says we take Tunsil. He is much more athletic than Lewan which is why the switch.

 

And to all who think that switch would be hard, Lewan started at RT when Roos was LT correct?

 

I don't remember for sure, but I know Oher started the year at RT. I'm thinking Lewan didn't play until Roos was hurt?

I've done all I can to block Whiz's time here, so it's all fuzzy.

I'm fairly confident Lewan never played RT in 2014. Roos started the first five games and then got hurt. Lewan, according to his game log on NFL.com, started six games after that and then got hurt.

Oher definitely started the first 11 games in 2014, so Lewan didn't play RT.

So Lewan spent all of OTAs and training camp at RT until Oher was cleared and settled in, and was listed as Roos' backup. Then, once Roos suffered his injury, Lewan was elevated to LT.

I also think Lewan started or got quite a bit of playing time with the starters in the preseason games as well, just additional info.

I agree with what you are saying. We need to leave Lewan at LT and draft Ramsey. Vet RT or use our 2nd on one. Ramsey is too much of a difference maker to pass up. LeBeau will love him!

 

It doesn't matter anymore. That pick was already made. The main thing we should be concerned about is protecting our franchise QB. We gave up the most sacks in the league last year and MM got hurt twice. Lewan didn't play well at LT last year. Tunsil would be a great pick if that is the decision we make.
