I thought I read where the Titans met with Vasquez yesterday. I saw his tweet etc...But today Kuharsky reports that the Titans are meeting with Johnson and Blake, but knows nothing about Vasquez other than Vaquez tweeted yesterday that he was on the plane.

Curious. I am thinking maybe they did not meet until today?

Lets sign all three of them and call it a day. Vasquez solidifies our guard spot and creates some competition for the young guys. Johnson upgrades us at safety. Blake although he did not have a good season last year has been an NFL starter and provides depth and an upgrade over what we have on the roster.

    Heads Up!

Jim Wyatt just followed Louis Vasquez on Twitter. I believe that makes it official pending physical.

I'm excited for this guy mostly because of what I'm reading from all of you. Honestly don't know how good he actually is. To me it seems like the Broncos running game really struggled last year. I also feel like #18 took more sacks than normal.

My question is, is this guy really a difference maker? I realize he'll be an upgrade from what he had (would be impossible not to be), but how good is he actually? He has 2 stars from WalterFootball (for whatever that's worth).

It seemed to me like we would be better of with Evan Mathis. He's older, but can provide capable play and great leadership. I would love for our young guys, especially Warmak, to lean from him. Let's not forget, we got Kevin Mawae pretty late in his career. He brought more value than we could of ever imagined. Arguably one of the best FA pick ups of this franchise.

Vasquez was very good in Den up until Kubiak came in and implemented a zone blocking scheme that completely nullifies the best part of Vasquez game. He's a power blocking G not a good fit for a zone scheme. I attribute that and the fact he was playing through injuries for his ratings this past season. He fits our scheme and would be a definite upgrade that won't break the bank. He could easily have 2-3 yrs left and that gives poutasi time to develop behind him.

I actually think we're bringing him in to play RT, I think the best case scenario for the OL assuming we sign Vasquez is that Poutasi steps up and is able to play well at LG with Vasquez manning RT, which he has done successfully before. I feel a lot better about Poutasi as a guard because that's his natural position.

I would like for us to bring in a Byron Bell type guy as a backup guy that can play both OG and RT if needed if we had injuries or things didn't go as planned. Just my thoughts on the matter and not what I would personally do in this situation, but with all the info I have this is what I consider the most likely plan.
