I've gone back and forth on this since we got the ****ing pick.

On one hand, you've got Tunsil, who by many accounts is a pro-bowl caliber LT prospect. And you have a franchise QB who spent half his rookie season on his ass. Fit seems perfect.

But then you have Ramsey, who is one of the best DB prospects I've ever seen. A guy who would bring such a high level of intensity and moxie that he would lead and give a standard of absolute badassness to our defense for the next decade.

So, you're either drafting a guy who will help keep the blood off the face of your offense, or you're drafting the face of your defense who, along with the face of your offense, will bring a truly new air of greatness to Tennessee.

I might change my mind again, but f*** it:

Not sure why there is so much concern over Ramsey playing CB. He IS a corner back. Yes, he is extremely versatile, but the vast majority of his snaps at FSU came from a CB position. He was the first true freshman to start at corner for FSU since Deion Sanders. That was a team with P.J. Williams, Lamarcus Joyner, and Ronald Darby. All NFL players now (two 2nd rounders and a 3rd). So it’s not like Ramsey started out of desperation. That says something! The only reason he played safety was to fill in due to injury his freshman year.

He moved right back to CB as a sophomore, starting at the “star” position. FSU’s “star” position is a versatile nickel. They can go in the box for run support or to cover the TE, they can drop deep in zone, and of course, they can cover the slot receiver in man to man.

He started all his games at outside CB as a Junior.

Although I personally believe S is an easier transition for him, he is definitely a CB than can play S, not the other way around.

based on recent posts alone, I was thinking it was more like 60/40 Rasmey/Tunsil, but the poll really shows a huge difference, not shocked but its really telling who the pick should be

Yeah they should just skip all the in person stuff and go with forum fan polls when making these choices...

Or they could just use this thing:

I want Ramsey provided the FO believes he can be more than just a cornerback. I want him playing in the slot, blitzing, wreaking havoc. A Charles Woodson type. Maybe even a little Polamalu to him in that he is very aggressive. I don't necessarily just want a Josh Norman, who can be schemed out of a game.

How do you know he's a CB1? Nobody can agree what his best position is. And after 2 years we realize he isn't a CB1 we just move him to FS? That's what the Cardinals did with Antrel Rolle and they lost him to free agency and his best years as a player were not with that team.

You realize we have signed 2 safeties and 3 CBs the past 2 off seasons right? We have far more money tied up in the defensive backfield then we do on the o-line. We have signed nobody to play RT.
