We should have stayed at 15 and taken Decker or with 8 take Tunsil, if OT was the Rd 1 pick the FO wanted regardless.

I wanted Ramsey at 1 but the extra picks were hard to pass up.

In saying that, was passing on Ramsey for Conklin, Dodd, Johnson, Henry, Byrad and next years 1 worth it? Only time will tell.

I'll tell you personally, I would be estactic right now if we had Ramsey and Jack.

 

I never said it was meaningless. But future picks are not nearly as valuable as current picks. And considering we started at No. 1, it should all be considered one giant trade, since this was clearly the intent all along. **** they were even predicting it for the last week before the draft.

We came away from the 1st round with lots of picks (including an extra 1st rounder next year), and still got the player we were targeting.

 

Theres always the possibility that they wouldnt give us that type of deal. Once we made one with the Rams, they had no choice but to give up that much with the Browns.

 

I dont like giving up the 2nd.

However Robinson felt like its what he needed to do so thatll just be one checkbox in the negative column. Dont like it but its done.


Im still glad we got the guy, even if it cost more than i wanted.

 

Conklin is going to be a tough SOB. Perfect attitude for a RT. Hope his attitude is contagious.

 

That is so stupid. Why can't we value or judge each trade individually? Just asinine.

Might as well suggest hiring Whis was a good move because without doing that we didn't have the 1st overall pick to then trade. Or go further and say the VY/Fisher drama was all worth it because that led to Whisenhunt being hired which then led to the 1st overall pick which then led to the trade.


Just so so dumb to not evaluate trades on an actual trade for trade basis.

Looks like I'm not the only one thinking giving up a 2017 2nd rounder to move up 7 spots sucked.

 

This guy has no choice but to play well he reminds me of Lewan in a way.

 

Because one was done with the intention of doing the other. I don't know why that is so hard for you to comprehend. We didn't just go from 15 to 8. We went from 1 to 15 to 8. We weren't in love with any of the top picks and knew we'd be able to back up into the top 10 to get the guy we really wanted.
