If you're the worst team it means your starters aren't very good. You want to replace them least you still be the worst team.

What happens when our line still sucks even after all these picks? Not saying it will but knowing us it'll happen.

Not sure why people don't like the Dodd pick. From what little I've read he had 12 sacks last season...he was just overshadowed by a bigger name on the same team.

I'll agree with titanthakur for once... We will see how these guys play. Draft grades are basically a popularity contest the same as mock drafts. Everyone is worried about getting the big name players and not so much about how the guys actually play on the field on Sundays.

But why do they have to be day 1 starters? If you are the worst team you are a ways away from competing for a title. Why aim for day 1 starters instead of players that will be the best starters in the future?

Because nobody knows what these guys will be, its hard to judge already. Because the draft is a crap shoot the more picks you have, the better off you are (mathematically). Add in a proven talent evaluator and you have better odds per pick. With that said, we have a very high chance (probably the highest in the nfl), that we had a great draft.

People put to much emotion into draft evaluation.

I wanted ramsey the most out of any guy and think he's gonna be great. But, that doesn't sway my opinion on this draft enough to give anything less than an A-

Yeah, we will have to wait and see. We certainly improved the C position, and our new RT plays with a mean streak. He is a bull, and has even said that being physical is his style. This fits perfectly with what our HC wants to do and is familiar with. This is going to be a bruising push the front type of OL that is obviously focused on running the ball. We drafted Henry (nothing about his running style is cute at all) and acquired Murray (yet another N/S back). This team is being built as a sledgehammer. We shall see if we can pull it off, but I like the idea. It protects Mary, and may help in short yardage passes with shots deep using his legs. Also, we have large bodies in the backfield to help in pass pro. I am not too upset about the secondary either- maybe they feel that next year we can spend a 1st on CB and a 1st on WR. I dunno, but it is a decent start.

I grade it A- obviously tough to comment on talent of players we got for 3 years.

But JR demonstrated apt GMship. He traded when he needed to to get the player he wanted. He demonstrated good aptitude in dealing. The Browns trade with our future 2nd was steep but apparently necessary to acquire Conklin over the Giants.

The players will determine how good the scouting was. I know JR has already clarifies he's using the pre-existing Titans scouting methods and assessments. He'll overhaul that element of talent acquisition in the upcoming months.

Arrow pointing up IMO for GM AND future drafts.
