Get off of Tunsil's bag....He has off field baggage...Played 5 games last year, and a history of injuries/hence his brace....I don't blame Jrob one bit for skipping his bum A$$ and you can tell me he is a better pass protector when he plays in the NFL. Same can be said for Conklin (In college, he was a MUCH better run blocker than Tunsil ever dreamed to be). Jrob just landed 4 guys who were hanging around the 1st round pick wise for months, so I say he did a fine job, and much better than Webster ever dreamed of doing. Lets revisit this link when Tunsil is sucking gonads for the Dolphins and likely either injured or getting into trouble....

Well NFL teams agree with me on Conklin and not you.. So... I guess you're in the minorty there pal.

I never said Charlie was a god-tier expert. Did you even read the quote I was responding to? Context clues are important.

Yes Austin Johnson, Derrick Henry, Kevin Dodd, and Jack Conklin all had 1st round grades from NFL teams.

You claim these exports opinions don't matter but then also claimed that if they bash your picks it's not good..? Which is it?!

    This draft= REMARKABLE improvement.

First draft in a decade where we had a GM demonstrate the skills he's paid to have. JR did well.

The talent evaluation is left over from prior regimen. JR gets a pass on that and besides we won't know for 3 years any way. Some picks were heads scratchers but let's see what happens. This is the first draft in years I've been optimistic about.

Frankly, the proof is in the pudding - as they say. And most of you are arguing over apples and oranges.

No matter how you slice it, Tunsil has red flags in character, off field decisions and accountability, and injury issues. And on the field, his 0 sacks stat was helped greatly by his qb. He got beat in pass protection a lot more than most think. And he doesn't fit our run scheme as he is a very good zone blocker who is great at getting to the second level and pulling to lead on sweeps and screens. He's not good in the power game. Tunsil has as much upside at LT as any player in the draft due to his talent and athletic ability in pass pro. But we didn't need a pass blocking LT. We needed a RT who's a plus pass protector and a plus run blocker in our power run game. Conklin fits our position and scheme need perfectly.

Teams start rating players in general and then change ratings based on role/scheme fit. In that regard, it makes sense we would have Conklin rated higher than most of the OT's who don't fit our scheme. Alsi why we probably had Johnson rated higher than a 4-3 team would (depending on their exact scheme). Keep these things in mind as they are important when evaluating not only the draft on paper, but how these guys will play on the field.

And another thing to remember, fans tend to fall on the side of results, not decisions. You might take the next Joe Montana and another team takes Scott Mitchell. But if Joe injures his throwing shoulder in a car accident and never plays a down in the NFL, most fans will say 'you drafted the wrong guy, the GM stinks.' They can only take best educated guess. There are always unforeseen things that happen which can alter the success or failure of a pick.

Additionally, you can debate whatever you want. Personally, if you think you're more than a fair weather fan (or basher), you should have put your mettle to the test in our real draft thread. We chose our picks during the draft with even more restrictions than the Titans had for the very ability to compare how we do vs the 'experts.'

If you don't like our draft and think you can do better, take a shot! It's an eye opening experience for most because you don't have the hindsight to see how far a player would drop. You also can't get everyone you want because you don't have enough picks. And unlike the Titans, we can't trade up for players we want or trade back to get more picks unless the Titans choose to. Check out our drafts and see what you think! I think some of you will like some of our posters' drafts better than JR's....but so what. We won't know how this draft really was for 3-5 years. But it's fun to talk about and debate!

right, which for me at least, is why Dodd was such an odd pick at the top of round 2, when we had 3 picks in the round. We picked a 4-3 DE and announced he was an OLB for us. He was only a 1 year starter at that. Just seemed weird, that pick felt like a webster pick. We'll see how it turns out in the long run.

Well I think McShay had us picking him in his final mock draft. Or one of those guys had us taking him at one point.

See, that's where I wish I could see exactly why they even let a dumb thought like that creep up in their mind.... If we wanted an EDGE - from where we were - We FOR SURE would have popped back in to select Buckner. Cass and Shay are sports analysts and should have known first hand that we were all over him.

I know there were some rumors of Floyd going top 5 and I'm sure some of there sources around the league told them that and figured it would be good value for Tennessee at 15.
