Undrafted Rookie Free Agent Signings

I would love to see McCluster cut, but I don't see it happening. Mularkey is in love with the guy for some reason. He talked about how important Dexter was to the team & even named him a captain. Then consider he is the only change of pace RB we have & I bet he makes the final roster. I wish it wasn't true, but I am afraid it is.

 

I was so sure that McCluster was a Whizenhunt guy.

 

He was a Whisenhunt guy, but Mularkey is crazy about him too. Whiz named Lewan a Captain. Once Mularkey took over he stripped Lewan of the status and named McCluster Captain. That is one of the times Mularkey heaped praise on McCluster. He went on to speak of how important it was to McCluster to be involved in the offense and how McCluster could change a game with one play.

I do not know or understand how Whiz and Mularkey can be so crazy about a guy they over paid and has contributed so little to the team.

Hopefully very soon the team will realize he is just a fast guy who has no real position he can excel in.

 

McCluster was the only veteran presence in the backfield last year. I'm thinking that's one of the only reasons he's been praised.

That changes with Demarco, but DMC is still the only scatback on the roster.

 

I think they're only keeping McCluster around in hopes that he gets a shot on Dancing with the Stars. Free publicity for the Titans.

McCluster plays with heart. And he plays a different style then what we've got already. I bet he makes the team.

 

He certainly tries, but if the effort doesn't lead to production what's the point in keeping him

 

McCluster consistently surprised me with his effort and always make the first guy miss and the jump cuts! The quickness!!.....

And then you realize that he'd only gotten about 2 yards.

But seriously, if you look at his 2015 season, he had 247 yards on 55 carries. Sounds good on the surface. 4.5 yards per carry is very respectable.

Dive in a little deeper though and you see that he had 98 yards on 10 carries against the Browns, the worst run D in the NFL last year, which included a 44 yard run. Take that game out and his average for the rest of the season falls to a paltry 3.3 ypc average on 45 carries which is the exact same ypc he had in 2014 as well. He's done. Please cut him.

(I wish no ill will towards him, I hope we cut him and he goes on to be the greatest fashion mogul, or venture capitalist that lived, just don't want him on the Titans)
