I like Chance's chance to redeem himself this year though. I think Conklin next to him, power schemes, big backs, and Russ Grimm will do wonders for the guy. For the first time in his career he's in the right scheme with good talent and coaching around him.

If he sucks this year, he has no one to blame but himself.

    Thank you!

So far Chance has taken zero responsibility.

A quote from Kuharsky from during the season.

Now this garbage about coaching. Let's not pretend like this is Bostad's first go around with offensive linemen. He's been coaching the offensive side of the ball since 1990 and has coached offensive linemen at U of Wisconsin and in the NFL in Tampa.

Chance is a bust. We spent the 10th pick in the whole ****ing draft on a guard because it was the "safe" thing to do and he busted.

Chance needs to own up to his play so far but he does make a solid point. I wish the guy asked him "well what about your other two coaches?". That would've put him in the corner. The good news is he's putting in work this offseason and he should be motivated for a contract year.

All of the above is true. Whiz's system left him and others out to dry...helped only by an ineffective run game because of scheme, playcalling, gameplanning, poor coaching - especially at OL (did a single player get better on the OL? NOPE!). And then doubled up when we end up in 3rd and long with backup tackles and Whiz is calling deep pass plays with 5 man protections and no chip blocks or anything to help anyone. Not smart!

But Chance has needed to take some personal responsibility first. Hopefully him going to learn from another successful OL can help him...especially if they can dissect tape and go over what he IS doing wrong and fix it. I also like that other good OL are there (Kyle Long). Maybe a little Mariota is rubbing off on him or he's now feeling the heat because of competition and no option pickup so he's on the contract clock right now. Either way, he's feeling the heat and sees the new culture. You are playing for a job now. Once again, you have a Hall of Fame OL coaching you. You have a new scheme which fits you to a tee. You have better players on both sides of you. You have a run first offensive concept.

Rule 76...no excuses!!! Play like a champion!!!

Maybe, maybe not. There's calls that can help with that. Instead of just doing a straight set drop where you have to read the D, you can do what's essentially left and right pass sets where everyone just slides left or right and picks up whoever shows up. The back slides to the opposite side to pick up anyone who shows up there.

But yeah, that's where a vet coach can help him with his eye discipline and responsibilities. It's the little things that matter most in OL play. Eyes, first steps, hand placement are all critical. The best coaches know how to teach little tips and tricks to get players to do those right. Other coaches think that all they have to do is make you go the right way and hit someone.

In all the defense I have for Chance, I'll give my favorite quote from my old HS OL coach, "If's 'if's' and 'buts' were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas". So nut up Chance. No more excuses.

Also, need to remember hes a young guy that came from a winning program, to doing nothing but lose for 3 straight seasons, then they throw in a coach that didnt sit well or interact with him properly.

Should he be complaining like that? No. He should be taking responsibility, etc but you also need to look at it from his perspective. He has a chance this year to show what he is capable of with a new coach, a renewed line, and an opportunity to earn a nice payday if he does well. the balls in his court

Wiz got fire from ARZ because his o line suck same with the titans.

That's why only vet Qbs who get rid of the ball work in his sytem.
