Wish we could have made a move for Cody Whitehair. Probably the most versatile lineman in this draft. Can play any position on the line. I was really hoping he would fall to 64.

Bell is the worst case scenario IMO. I'd let Poutasi and everyone else not named Bell get a shot at the job before I relinquish power to Bell.

He's only average vs inferior competition, vs anyone half good he gets beat like a drum

Hopefully having a young line will help in them being healthy. They also need to play a bunch of games together to really gel as a unit. Hard to do when guys are getting hurt.

I agree. Hopefully there is a full blown competition and one of the other guards beats him out of that spot. Maybe Poutasi or Tretola can be that guy. But until we see something from them, then Bell is still the favorite to start week 1 IMO. Best case is Poutasi shows something good at guard. I'd prefer not to have the rookie starting unless he is just heads and shoulders above everyone.

I would prefer if Bell were a backup though. He could technically back up both T and G positions, so if a starter went down, there would be little shuffling of the OL, and would help keep the continuity ... However if Bell is a starter, then if a T were to go down, then you have to change 2 positions on the line (bell to T, and someone to replace Bell at G)

A WR that eclipses our tight end would be nice..

Man the more I go back and look at Poutasi both in college and in the pros, the worse he looks. I hope he's put in work in the offseason because if we get this year what we had last year from him, I find it highly unlikely he makes the final 53. I could see us going with Spain, Warmack, Tretola and a vet signed after roster cuts instead.

We just signed two big OT UDFAs, maybe we plan on trying them out at guard as well.

Doesn't really fit the lineman we seemed to be targeting. He's not really a mover type in the run game.

Yeah, Garnett or Coleman were the obvious guys along with Conklin as they are the best power run blockers. I'm a bit surprised we didn't draft Westerman late.

He's in the same boat. Good technique and movement skills but he's not a push you around all game type like his bench press numbers may indicate.

Garnett is very much a push you around kind of guy as is Coleman and Conklin. Watch Garnett's draft breakdown vid vs UCLA. He takes Kenny Clark on 1v1 and drives him 5-6yds off the ball!!!
