I think it is a camp thing

 

He can't wear #2 when the season starts. RB numbers have to be in the 20's, 30's or 40's.

My guess is he's hoping McCluster gets cut so he can wear #22.

 

We're all hoping that

Maybe he will earn 27

 

What were his number's over the years? #2 in high school then again last year, and #27 two years ago...

Why #22 now?

per the videos released on INSTAGRAM & etc. of DH's footwork (Paul K & Others commenting) ..... another topic, for another response...

He was wearing #2 while doing footwork drills... Not 22. Maybe he is waiting on a final word from whether or not MCC is cut..

And can someone shed some light on how often rookies (or vets) start camp with one number, and then transition to another closer towards preseason and etc...
I know it happened last year with David Cobb at 44 to 23.... But I mean we're talking about something different here - we're talking a player being allowed to wear a jersey number that isn't suited for running backs..... I would think, if there's not a challenge to the rules in play, that they would suit him with a temp. number (like Cobb last year) until the roster cut down came along......

Like I said, unless it's a pitch to bring in more media and etc..... I can't make sense of it.... just me. Offer your opinions..

 

IMO it dont cost nothing much and if it pleases DH to wear #2 during crap he does prior to the number rules being official then I say
