I think that's the right style for success too. Don't waste time with trick plays. Run the ball, up the middle and keep the pass playbook simple too. The division that Tennessee plays in has one guy to game plan against, JJ Watt. The rest is bad enough Smart Mike won't need to out smart them, just try to out power them.

Balanced is great and obviously every coaches dream BUT my concern is the team's ability to get that 1st down from 3rd and long, etc. Connecting on those few much needed big plays that the better teams seem to mostly convert. What's up Mularkey and Robiskie's sleeves when the pressure is on for a BIG PLAY or two, or three???

One thing I keep reminding myself is that Mariota was actually pretty efficient in the red zone and against the blitz. Two things a good run game will compliment.

Yeah I agree with that. I also think we need a solid TE that can catch next to Delanie Walker...That would be hell to cover and really help Mariota/and give some depth whether both are healthy, or Walker gets hurt.

I think Fasano can still be that guy. His numbers in Miami weren't like Walker's but he can catch and be a red zone threat. Dallas didn't really use him because of that Witten guy which is kind of where he falls in Tennessee.

Yeah, kind of like a Heath Miller type...but doesn't have the clutch/route skill. I guess we will see. Lord knows we have like 7 TE's again, so hopefully someone steps up. If we keep both firsts, I'm thinking they go WR/CB likely...it's early yet though...

I think JRob wanted the job and was forced to work with Mularky.

The truth of the matter is that any GM that wanted this job was going to have to work with Mularkey. We absolutely know that. After the farce that was the "Head Coaching Search" it was obvious that Mularkey was always going to be the guy. The GM was always going to be whoever would agree to work with him. I believe we got lucky and got a good one. JRob is doing what any good GM would do. He is helping to get players that actually fit the identity the Head Coach is trying to put on the field. That is something that has been missing in TN for at least 4yrs IMO. I also believe that Mularkey will be around long enough that the guys we just drafted will be nearing the end of rookie deals before he is gone. AAS went against MOST fans & most football minds selecting Mularkey. She will give him more than enough time (Probably much more than we want) to attempt to make it work.

In the end, I still do not see us making the playoffs with Mularkey. I hope I am wrong, because I am sick of losing. However, I just have no faith in Mularkey. He is what his record says he is: WELL BELOW AVERAGE.

For the sake of this team for the next few years; I hope he has found a way to win. I just have a very hard time convincing myself that is true.

I agree mostly, but he's also never had a QB worth a damn

    Now he does

Mularkey is gonna get 3 years IMO
