I think six sacks from Dodd a year is a successful pick.

Jacob Ford was on IR his rookie year, then had 7 sacks... as a benefactor of being a total speed rusher on a stud defense.

I don't think Dodd needs a ton of sacks to be successful. He just needs to be active. I do think he will hit 6-8 sacks at some point, but probably not if he is behind Morgan and Orakpo.

Agreed...I didn't mind the Dodd pick where they got him. We just need to make sure that he is rested and healthy...don't rush it!

WTF are you talking about? Dodd is not expected to start. 4 sacks as a rookie #3 DE or 3-4 OLB who doesn't start is fine.

WTF does Jacob ford have to do with this? He was a flash in the pan who went down hill after that rookie year. Carlos Hall was another late pick who did great his rookie year and then little after. Ford and Hall are hardly the norm at all so you can't compare anybody to them.

Dodd is not just a 245 lb speed rusher. He is a complete player who can stop the run and could be moved inside if they feel he would be better suited there.

Agreed. At almost 280 lbs he might never be an elite edge rusher but he can give you maybe 6 sacks a season while being solid against the run. Much like Morgan.

We passed on 2 speed rush guys in Spence and Correa in drafting Dodd. Those guys are 6'25 245-250 lbs Dodd at 6'5 277 is the same size as Jason Jones.

A positive comparison to Dodd could be Trevor Pryce the former Broncos and ravens DE.

Pryce was 6'5 1'4 282 at his combine in 97. He only ran a 4.99 40 with 17 reps. As a 4-3 end for the Broncos he averaged almost 10 sacks a season over 6 years. Then later in his career he played inside for the Ravens as a 3-4 end where he weighed closer to 300 lbs and made a pro bowl.

Lol stfu none of them have even played an NFL snap yet. Smith might never play a snap of the nerve doesn't wake up. He suffered this in rookie OTAs. It's minor not career threatening. There isn't even a comparison to be made on the severity of these injuries.
