With the 253rd pick of the 2016 Draft: Southern Miss DB Kalan Reed

Ahh gotcha. I didn't read through the thread or I probably would have been able to decipher that.

 

There is no such thing as a perfect prospect. We picked the best guys we felt were available. You tell me a better draft scenario that would have involved 4 starters on day 1 and its not happening. Not a single DB/FS would have been a clear cut starter in the 2nd round.

 

Pretty shocked no one posted anything in this thread since it was "Mr. Irrelevant Week" this week. Lots of Kalan stuff going on. I'll get it started...

Everyone knows by now (I hope) that he grew up around Nashville, even played during halftime once as entertainment as a kid. Apparently Reed's parents were at the Music City Miracle game but left before it actually happened.

He's not a great interviewer yet tho.

 

What was wrong with his interview?

 

Thought he interviewed fine.

So quick story I havent gotten around to posting yet... too much life going on and whatnot. But anyway, it begins with me really wanting us to draft Reed after his PFF ranking and write up prior to day 3 of the Draft. I live in Asia so Day 3 began at 1am here, I stayed up as late as I could to see if we'd draft him to start the 5th, but passed out long before our selection arrived. Again, I blame life. Somehow, at 5 in the morning I woke up unexpectedly. I was about to go back to sleep, when I remembered in my stupor that the draft was happening still. I grabbed my tablet, went to the draft tracker, told my lady to go back to sleep, scrolled to the 5th round and low and behold... no Kalan. I went to the sixth, and again he was a no show anywhere in the the round. To the seventh I went, and as I scrolled down, I realized pick #253 was on the clock! And it was the Titans! Well obviously I sat up in bed and stared at the screen in the dark for a good five minutes, until suddenly the selection appeared. Holy S#it! I yelled, waking up a very unhappy girl beside me. It was Kalan! I woke up at the exact minute he was being drafted. Is it kismet? I dunno but im routing for the dude more than ever.
