That is as honest a statement as I have heard in a while. This team had absolutely NO RB to fear last year. The best RB in our group was an UDFA who would not be starting on any other team IMO. Don't get me wrong, I think Andrews did ok for what he is; but he is not going to be the type of back opposing teams game plan for. Now that we have a couple of RBs that teams will need to respect; this could be a much better scenario for us. Murray & Henry will have to earn it, but teams will know we are going to run the ball. If we have a good play action plan & some well placed QB runs; it is going to take the attention off Marcus. We need that badly. Last year opposing defenses knew all they really had to fear was Marcus & Walker.

Hopefully Mularkey plays to win. I fear he will continue to play not to lose. If we start being really predictable & try to milk out the clock every game; it is gonna be another long season. JRob has given Mularkey the tools he needs to runs his offense. As much as he could in one off season anyway. So if he fails; it is all on Mularkey. Let's just hope that tough hard nosed stuff applies to the HC as well as the players.

I agree and that's part of what I meant by "protect". Protect him with blocking , running game and receivers who run good routes and catch the ball.

I think we can expect slightly better numbers this year. With an invigorated running game he won't be asked to throw 30 times a game. So his number will likely look like sub 3000 pass yards, fewer fumbles, and fewer INTs. Hard to gauge how many TD he'll throw.

Rather read that than hear the oline is the problem, maybe our RBs will pick up the receivers slack

I think Mariota is a good upside backup for FF this year. I'm not calling him injury prone, but I definitely would like to see more proof the OL is going to protect him better this year. For FF, I think Eli is still a solid pick even with all the turnovers. He has year in and year out put up 25+ TD passes and over 4K yards even when the team is awful. Out of those top 10, I would argue Luck might be the odd one out.
