    Cr*p.... Thats a benchmark and a half....

Its getting to the point where you have to win a SB before you send trucks full of money to key players it seems....

I don't watch the Colts to know much about him, other then when they play us. I see a lot of poeple here saying overrated... I don't know guys... Doesn't the talent around him kinda suck (OL / WRs / RB / TE)?

Surely they had to see something to pay him all that?

Or maybe Irsay needs to lay of em substances hahhaaha

A quick Google search of Luck's stats will tell you all you need to know about his ability. Dude is never in the top 10 of any meaningful QB statistic, unless you count sacks and INTs.

the asian workers on my cruise would smile and say "Mariota" to me cause they recognized my 2 tone blue Titan gear. Doubt they spoke any other english - lol

the passengers just occasionally expressed some form of pity/sympathy. Lots of middle TN passengers.

sidebar - I was in the ships sports bar watching the Croatia vs Spain soccer match. When Croatia scored with like 5 mins left to win 2-1 that place erupted. I found out I was the only passenger in there - lazy Eurobums!

The year they went to the AFCC game was one of the flukiest PO runs I have ever seen.

They should have been destroyed by KC in the 1st round (and they were getting destroyed) Then KC basically calls it a game and allows the colts to comeback and win. It was more of a collapse by KC than anything.

Then the Colts get to face Den in the next round. Peyton looked like absolute trash that game. Balls going into the dirt infront of WRs ... you could tell Peyton was nearing his end. Worst I have ever seen him at that point. I bet 31 NFL teams would've beaten the Broncos that game.

Once the Colts got to the AFCC game, they got destroyed (again). Except this time Bill Belichick and Co. didn't let their foot of the gas like KC did.

Had the Colts had to face the Ravens or Steelers in the POs, it would've ended very quickly for them (Ravens gave the Pats a run for their money that year too)

Part of the problem is the new CBA allows for higher contracts with vets (rather than paying ungodly amounts to rookies). So we have seen an inflation in contracts for sure.

Another part is this trend that the latest contract has to be better than the rest, even if said player is not better than the rest. No one should be making more than Rodgers / Brady because no one in better than them, but that doesn't seem to matter in this day an age.

the 3rd problem is the Colts over-value Luck a ton. I live in Indy, and the years of having Peyton at QB for so long has seemingly made EVERYONE here think that there couldn't possibly exist a world in which they don't have an elite HoF QB. They really do think Luck is the 2nd coming of Manning for them, and give him every excuse in the book when he doesn't play great. I think the FO has also bought into the hype (after all they did dump manning for him, and that may have cost them 2 trips to the SB)

At some point though, these contracts really do have to level off. If not, then we might as well re-sign MM right now so we can save about $50M in about 4 years lol

An average QB is a death sentence in today's NFL.

    Not if youre the Jets

they seem content giving up on an average QB to go with a proven scrub and 2 unknowns..

they might set things right with these QB's

2014: #1 in TDs, #3 in passing yards.

People always go to "they threw a lot that year" but 5 other QBs had 600+ attempts that year as well (Brees, Ryan, Roethlisberger, Stafford, Eli). And none of them came close to matching his TD total.

I'm not trying to be a Luck apologist here. I do believe he is overrated. But this idea that he is a bad QB is complete and total nonsense.
