Colts got butt raped ... except they willingly pulled their pants down and asked for it

Colts are following the Peyton Manning formula. Pay your QBS and WRs, and ignore the rest.

Except Luck isn't on Peytons level

He is also a high character guy from what most people think about him, and he left millions and millions on the table by skipping the draft and finishing out his college commitments. I thought it was a big risk for him at the time with the new CBA on rookie contracts looming. These veteran contracts are going to continue to get bigger and bigger just for the fact that the NFL is raking in so much money.

Saints pay Brees like 20% of their cap, Indy ain't the only ones doing this

Luck'sno Brees, though. Brees earned that... Luck really hasn't. But you gotta pay your franchise QB.

Let me ask you guys this.... if Mariota has an average/above-average season this year, then throws 40TDs and leads us to a conference championship in 2017, then gets hurt in 2018 what would you want the Titans to do in that situation? Because that's pretty much what has happened with Luck so far. Would you honestly want the team to let Mariota walk?

I think everyone is getting ahead of themselves. I am not saying he will be as good as Peyton, but there was a time when Peyton was a turnover machine and sucked in the playoffs, actually much worse than Luck has so far. If you look at their first 4 years, Peyton had 111 TDs and 81 INTs and was 0-3 in the playoffs with only 1 200 yard post season passing game, only 1 TD pass, and a completion percentage under 50%.

Compare that to Luck, who in his first 4 years has 101 TDs, 55 INTs, and 3 playoff wins, and only one playoff game where he threw for less than 200 yards.

He has actually been better than Peyton in this first 4 years, especially when you consider Peyton was playing with a good running game too, where as Luck has had an ancient Frank Gore and Trenton Richardson, the last few years. He hasnt played with a 1000 yard rusher yet.

So... NFL franchise draft based off ESPN hype but they don't throw out millions because of it?

    Wrong.

10 QBs 26 or younger that are AS good as Luck:

    1. Cam Newton
    2. Russell Wilson
    3. Andy Dalton
    4. Derek Carr
    5. Blake Bortles
    6. Tyrod Taylor
    7. Teddy Bridgewater
    8. Jameis Winston
    9. Ryan Tannehill
    10. Nick Foles
    11. Kirk Cousins

    Or 11. Whichever.

Hell, I'd even throw Marcus in there.
