Interesting Read: Matthews will be #1 WR

The Rams still have a very strong defense with an excellent front seven. They also have a great young RB and a young improve OL. And managed seven wins last year with crap at QB. If Goff is any better than a corpse the Rams will likely be average. Barring any brutal injuries.

Pick is likely in the teens at best.

 

I think Matthews is better than he's being given credit for. He's about on the level of Nate Washington in his prime. I wouldn't mind seeing him and DGB on the outside and Wright in the slot where he belongs.

 

So about what he did last year? Around 45 receptions and 700 yards? That was the typical Nate year, outside of two years.

Good assessment. They play in one of the strongest divisions and if Goff can play better than what Foles gave them then I can see them winning +2 over last season. I say drafting in the 15th range

 

They will also have a better home field advantage this year

 

To me this actually makes sense. He doesn't have to be the star or even best WR to be the #1. For instance, Delanie Walker should still be expected to be the prime receiving target. The article even states the position is mostly for his blocking abilities which is the primary focus of this offense but looking at NE with the way Welker and Edelman got used, they aren't the "#1" but actually were in targets behind Gronk which is where I expect to see Wright this year. Wright is a slot guy, not a #1. Not sure that Matthews and DGB are the outside talents needed to open up the slot, but it doesn't make sense to make Wright the #1.
