It seems Bosa is arrogant and insubordinate to say the least.

That's why the rookie pay scale was created in 2011

Bosa was picked 3rd, Chargers should hold up their end of the bargain

Didn't Michael Crabtree pull a similar stunt a couple years ago? I may be wrong and if I am, someone tell me: but if you aren't signed by Week 12 or don't sign at all I believe he techically goes back into next years draft.

Been there, done that. Didn't like it. Know what I didn't do? Mishandle it.

There's a very real chance that he won't play this year. If it comes to that, he's in the unenviable position of having been out of the game for a year. He doesn't get the money. Whatever offer he gets next year won't be as good as the one he got this year.

I know there are those who would think, "At least he done stuck to his prin-sa-bulls," but there comes a point when you have to realize that the cost of winning can be more than the benefit. The idiot doesn't know how to pick his battles.

Maybe I'm missing something but the money isn't the issue. It's how the signing bonus is paid out and offset language. The latest offer apparently pays him more than everyone except Wentz. Both sides are being stupid but it's going to get ugly.

I guess if someone told me "here sign this and we transfer $2 million into your bank account, BUT the remaining several million will be paid out in payments after a year or more" I'd probably be ok with that.

But at the same time, I'd want my money just like everyone else was getting it. If everyone else within the business in my same position is getting paid weekly, I don't want to be paid biweekly or monthly.

But I also wouldn't expect a company to keep paying me if I underperformed and got fired.

my understanding is the 'offset language' is about CAP more than just paying the money.

    limits dead CAP

    penny wise but pound foolish

I would much rather have control of $5m knowing $5m was coming in 6 months than compain about not getting $10m now.

IMO getting that initial $5m has HUGE value. Its not like Bosa is already sitting on $20m or anything

Bosa just needs to sign his damn deal and play football, IMO. Tired of hearing about this, making both parties look like fools. You haven't proved anything in this leagur, you're lucky to be getting millions to play a sport.

Suck it up, sign the deal, dominate, make bank with your 2nd contract.

Personally though, I love every bit of this drama. F the San Diego Chargers and F Bosa.

They're just meant for each other.
