He's as cool and calm as they come. If we continue to run the ball the way we have so far, he won't be asked to make those deep ball throws too often. He's still a young dude and has plenty of time and room to improve. If we keep running well, the boots and play action plays will keep defenses honest. We can be successful with this kid. He'll get better. It's all about surrounding him with guys that can help him improve. We've done that this offseason I believe.

Actually a deep ball doesn't help your TOP at all. But to keep the safeties honest, you have to hit one sometime.

He's an awfully entertaining guy. And there are a lot of plays he can make. As you saw yesterday he is a play maker. He does need to grow and improve on the long pass. It's no different than a great point guard new to the league in the NBA and not having a three point shot to keep the defense honest. Jason Kidd for a long couldn't shoot the three but he improved. Marcus can improve on the long throw. In time he is going to need too. Defensive guru's like the Belichicks will figure him out and stick it to the Titans.

It's nice to hear from someone that's actually been to the practices. Thanks for the update.

If the post is any crazier than the thread title, I'm glad I skipped it.

Most complete QB in the league... I'll have what you're smoking. Unless it's attached to Mariota's body...

Trent Dilfer won a SB. Would he have been described as the most complete QB in the league that year? It takes more than a QB to win games, but it certainly helps to have one that can manage a game. It's not glamorous but the best days for a QB can be a 17 - 21 day for 22o yards with no INT's and maybe a TD. You have to have a good running game and very good defense for this to work.

I honestly think MM doesn't truly have complete trust in his WRs yet and until they show him they can shake their cover consistently, he wont been sending any depth plays regular any time soon

I agree. You can also throw in Denver from last season as an example as well. Peyton was terrible and still managed to get a SB.
Unfortunately, our defense isnt near as good as either of those two teams had. Also, we need Mariotta to hit a deep ball to keep the defense honest. If they are packing 8 men into the box, our run game will suffer. I HOPE that they take advantage of the possible run game and have two things happen...

A lot of playaction and a lot of bootlegs.

I agree 100 percent. I am not saying Mariota is the best or even close. Just trying to provide evidence that he has the tools to become the most complete with proper development
