Lewan did NOT contribute to moving the pile forward. He came over the top of the pile and threw his shoulder at other players, and unfortunately all he hit was Murray.

I think it was 30 for 30 that had an episode on the Browns moving to Baltimore. I thought Belichek was actually doing a good job turning around the Browns but was basically over ridden by Modell so they could relocate. Not sure all the details, but he had the signs of being a good coach there.

The most endearing on field quality about Mariota coming into the draft was that he never turned the ball over.

He was suppose to be the QB that would take a couple of years to learn an NFL system but in the meantime, he could be a game managing type of QB that had a knack to make plays when needed and not turn the ball over.

It's not outlandish to make the argument he has cost the team 2 games because of turnovers.

If he doesn't single handedly gift the Vikings 14 points and doesn't fumble in Raider territory or toss a pick throwing behind Matthews midfield during a drive that could tie the game, this team could be 3-0.

There is plenty of blame to go around, but Mariota isn't untouchable. He definitely deserves his share.

I agree a lot with this. A couple issues though,
    1) Tennessee in the NFL is far from what Oregon in the Pac-12 was like.
    2) Even if he was "game managing" this team still wouldn't be winning games, they need more than that.
    3) Along those same lines, look at the outcry when he tries to be more than "game manager" with a bad team, he makes mistakes, and some fans want to hang him. He's basically in a no win situation with some people because he's not a HoF right out of the gates.
    4) I hold him more accountable for the L to the Vikings than I do against Oak, but I think this one hurts more because they just won last week and this one was at home.
    5) I think even Mariota sympathizers know that he isn't untouchable and rightfully deserves blame, maybe not 100%, but definitely some of it.

It's all a ploy to create a dynasty of 1st round draft picks. We are going to lose so badly each year we will keep drafting QB's with our 1st or 2nd pick until the odds turn in our favor and we actually get a good one.

He wouldn't throw so many pics if he had receivers with separation and play making abilities.

Game managing means making very few turnovers. The NFL has a lot of parity, and it's a fact that the team with the least amount of turnovers usually wins the game. When you view game stats, the first ones that usually pop off the page are turnover margin, 3rd down efficiency and time of possession.

I am not saying this (or other) loss is on Mularkey. I am saying he doesn't give me a lot of reason to have faith that he can turn things around and develop the young players into a good team. I can only base that on his past HC stints.

Yep. This D needs more takeaways to win that battle. The TO would be 0-0 with Mariota as a game manager and this team still doesn't look good. Today those 3 TO led to 3 pts. I think he's trying to be more than just a game manager and it's causing TO. A WR would help.
