From 2001 to 2004 Mason had 73 or more catches, as well as over 1000 yards In each of those seasons for the Titans. Those are legitimate number 1 receiver numbers. He also had 943 catches over his career. Randy Moss will most likely end up in the Hall of Fame with 982 catches over his career. Any team in the NFL would be happy to have a player with Mason's production on their team as a number 1.

Moss averaged 74 yards per game, Mason 54. Moss averaged 17 yards per catch, Mason 12. As I said, he caught a lot of junk from McNair down low. He actually had a much better career at the Ravens where he could run deeper routes with a better QB.

That play there and the Douglas screen might be the most depressing things I've seen.

As for the screen, why.... in the world... would you put a high valued target who the defense will be focusing on in motion TOWRDS the screen, which would immediately draw the defenses attention to shift that way to begin with. Mularky can see he ran the wrong way all he wants, I don't believe a word of it.

Just when our offense could actually be "dumb downed" for an OC with two very talented running backs, a mobile QB, a top 5 receiving TE... and yet we try and expand the play book into using "trick" plays and uneccesarry risks.

Why can't it be simple? Strong I, let Fowler lead the way, and mix that same formation in with play actions that will get Walker loose, and as we saw last week Fowler as well.

Then if you want to get a quick hit on first down, 4-5 wide, and spread out the D and get that quick curl or check down to Murray which has been shown to gain 5-6 yards on first.

I just don't get it. It would seem an OC would be thrilled to handle playcallung like this, keep it simple, focus on strengths. Instead we go out there with 1 WR and end up shifting 15 times and go into 5 wide. Either that or we refuse to run play actions with Fowler in the game, and the defense realizes this and is in the back field before Murray can barely grab he ball. It's sadly almost as if defenses aren't even worrying as much about MM's legs. Which should be our opponents main focus heading into each game along with our running game.

^ With our running corps, it only makes sense to use a lot of play action.

So you are saying Cincinnati, Houston, Pittsburgh, New York Giants, Carolina, Atlanta, etc. would all replace their respective number one reciever with Mason? Don't be dumb. The guy was good for us, but as I stated earlier, teams did not game plan for Mason, Mason did not draw double coverage.

If Chicago doesn't tag Jeffery, we have to go after him hard. I know he has nagging injuries but he is too good not to sign on a 4 year deal. Something we've been missing for far too long. Signing him and then getting a legit 3 like Jaron Brown, as someone mentioned above would address that position immediately, while being able to use top picks to address our poor secondary play. Obviously most teams would be going after Alshon, so we'd have to really impress him, and probably overpay a little, which I'm okay with if that means we have a legit number 1

We can try all we want to upgrade the WR spot. It's going to be a stroke of luck for us to eventually get it right.

Coming into the season, we all thought it would be Wright, DGB, Matthews, Johnson and Sharpe. That looked like a pretty formidable lineup if you ask me.

We've tried draft after draft to get that #1 WR and each and everyone has failed us so far. We desperately need a #1 WR, it's not even funny.

Now that Sharpe is coming along, it should be alot easier finding that #1 WR. I'd say sign Alshon Jeffery or Michael Floyd, or even draft JuJu Smith, along with a late round WR who can play underneath that has a lot of speed and can get separation.

I say Carrington from Oregon. Great speed, great hands, and already has chemistry with Mariota
