    I don't think so.

I remember when people kept trying to say Whiz was safe too- and I said nope.

Mularkey is gone if he doesn't do something.

I hope the agreement with Mularkey was playoffs or bust.

He gets one last chance to prove himself. If no playoffs, Robinson gets to bring in his guy.

In contrast, I would rather see this team reel off 9 in a row, clinch a wild card birth and win the game. We assume we know what we have with Mike Mularkey. His success or the lack of has never told a different story. However, if he does have some success, that would be a great thing. I'd rather see him shock the world and be the next Bill Belicheck than see him what we know him to be to thus point. This is why I voted the way I voted in the other thread. I would love to see Marcus adapt to what he is doing and become a complete star and see the two win multiple championships. I don't see it happening because I don't think Mularkey is that great a coach. If he was, he would have hired a coordinator to create an offense that gets the most out of the talents in it. He didn't. He is struggling.

I think that's just Mike Mularkey.

That was a big loss for us. I'm still on the fence that we can make playoffs, but anything under 7 wins and we can say t0 Mike Mularkey in the words of our mexican soldier 520...

This is going to come off all doom and gloom but I would not be shocked to see the Colts loss starts this team on a huge spiral downward.

Think about it. The Titans had just had it's first back-to-back win in years. It had two games at home in which they'd be favored against division opponents. Win both and sit atop the division at 5-3 before the schedule toughens up but they'd have confidence and momentum heading into the second half of the season.

The fans were on board BIG TIME Sunday. There was more optimism about the Titans last week than I'd seen in some time. The fans leaving the stadium after the loss looked about as dejected as I've seen since losing to the Ravens in the playoffs.

Now the Titans are 0-2 vs. division opponents and fan attitude is going to be pretty meh going into Thursday night. I would not be shocked to see the Titans come out flat. Add in the drop off of losing a couple of starters and my expectations are not high.

A loss to the Jags ends the season, IMO.

    Does it end Mularkey though?

Playoffs or bust? No one would come here on those terms, not even Mularkey

He has already done more in 7 weeks than Whiz did in 2 years, hes here to stay (for now)

If the Titans are bad enough to lose to the Jags at home, then all bets are off, IMO, because they'll have tough time defending the next three offenses they face.

    @ Chargers
    Packers
    @ Colts
    @ Bears
    BYE
    Broncos
    @ Chiefs
    @ Jaguars
    Texans

Maybe 1-2 wins in there assuming the Texans go into the final game having clinched the AFC South and roll over.

If they are 3-9 entering the bye, then a change may be made just so Robinson can get the search started.

IMO, the only way the Titans become Super Bowl contenders is if Mariota becomes a top 10 QB. I think that's the case with any team.

I believe a key component in making that happen is him playing under the same offense for multiple seasons.

It makes no sense to me to wait until Mariota is in his fourth and final season to make a head coach change forcing him to learn another offense.

If Strunk is all about Mariota, then it won't take a lot to convince her moving on from a 4-12/5-11 Mularkey is the right thing to do. They have to know if Mariota is the future so they can make a decision on his option year and begin working on a longterm deal that'll have a huge impact on the future of the team's salary cap.

Of course, if the Titans win Thursday night, it's all up in the air. I still don't expect to win more than six but that would mean Mularkey is here for another season.

I'm really interested in JRob's views at the moment. Surely as a fresh GM he doesn't want to be associated with the sinking ship that is perennially another season with the Titans ? I'd kind of like to know how much "pressure" he will want to put or is putting on Strunk to cut Mularkey loose and get a "proper" HC in here like McDaniels before its too late with MaryFloater and his reputation is compromised.
