Statistically Mariota is outperforming Winston. Less passing attempts but same touchdowns, less interceptions, less sacks, higher qb rating, more passing yards, more yards per attempt, and better completion percentage..

It's the coaches fault we suck

Much like the Titans, the Bucs are an average team with a QB who is inconsistent.

As to why the Titans are currently below average, it remains a multifaceted problem in which Mariota is a big part when he continues to turn over the football.

Tampa Bay bye week was the other week Jameis played 1 less game then Marcus. MM has the edge in the turnover battle, however Jameis also has the better receivers.

JR should have kept Hunter or DGB. I can't figure out what we gained with that roster spot.

I watched Winston against the 49ers the other night and this is true. Winston has better targets but lacks consistency despite having better WR's and IMO a better playbook to utilize his strengths.

Yeah- that's the same problem with our coaching.

Hunter been scoring TDs for buffalo, although his stats marginal. Makes it appear he could have been better coached/utilized here. He's supposed to start this week which will probably confirm why we dumped him but he had produced this year when top coverage not on him. Our WRs suck so bad right now I think we really are missing a deep and jump ball WR, a role that either Hunter or DGB could have filled ok. Our STs are great with suck, so I don't know that we pulled ahead with that move. Maybe run game benefitted from the spot just not convinced it was progress toward s better roster this year to have dumped both those guys.

We do need a true deep threat WR, but once we get one Mariota has to stop overthrowing them. Damn his noodle arm...lol!

That said, I'd much rather have Mariota over Winston. Winston is a moron and he's not sooo good that you can ignore that fact. Actually I think Mariota has the potential to be a way better QB, let's hope he can clean up some of his deficiencies.
