This is far from the truth. Executing with the defense on their heels is much easier. We are forcing him to play from predictable situations and formations allowing the defense the upper hand.

We can only speculate that we have long week after this game. I bet some midnight oil will be burned. Lots of talk about what is right and what is wrong, players, schemes, MM's progression, etc. Anxious to see the following Sunday.

We did this last year, and yes, it worked MOST of the time, until he finally threw a pick. When you put the ball in the air a lot it eventually happens. If we run heavy, at least one Safety has to play up, and you have less double teams, which is usually when you get the INT. MM just can't read all of this yet.

We didn't actually have a successful run game last year from ANY formation. That lead to excuses for Mariota. Now we choose to run UC and throw from Gun. Letting the defense key the formation. It's silly and there's no defending it. You have to hold the defense accountable in a push pull situation.

Reading the defense has nothing to do with us choosing to run from gun more with Henry.

Why do you assume this? He did just fine in the formation in Dallas. Also, he's an excellent receiver, and can be used in routes as such.

Because he does, you just watch him run from gun. He doesn't attack forward. Starts skating into the C gap too often.

Also see his eagles year. Almost exclusively from gun. Guy doesn't excel here. It's not a knock. It's just the truth

I'm sorry but I had to chime in here. We have a 2nd year quarterback (who maybe has played a full season of 16 games by now? or close to it) and people are calling for his head already. Just look at what their beloved Mettenburger did when he came in...oh wait.

If you don't think the defense and special teams are a huge part of why we are bad this year then you are blind. Our corners (McCourty included, my God I'd rather have Verner back there) are absolute trash, and the safety play has been pretty bad as well. In a pass first league, this is where the biggest problem is. How exactly can Marcus hold onto the ball when the offensive line goes full retard sometimes and rushers get to him so quickly? If anyone blame our defensive coaches and/or GM for allowing us to start the season with a terrible secondary in a PASS HAPPY League. And also our Special Teams unit because they are also trash.

If you wanna talk ypc then go look at DH's ypc in college and high school compared to DM's and you'll see it's not even close, I like DM a lot but I know damn well he is not the talent DH is, he wasn't in high school, he wasn't in college, and he won't be in the pros.

HS and college is not the pros. When you start paying people lots of money, and condense from 120 teams to 32, the talent rises. Bama has more blue chips than any team in college. Not really a fair comparison.
