SUMMARY: Texas QB Vince Young made a case he should be among the top quarterbacks in the 2006 NFL Draft with his Pro Day workout yesterday afternoon. He completed 50 of 55 passes (including a drop of a 55 pass which was possibly his best toss of the workout). "It was a good workout, just about what we expected I think," Titans GM Floyd Reese said. "I thought they did a nice job putting it on, they showed you a little bit of everything. We've seen great variety and great athleticism, all the goods and pluses." The Titans visited with Young last night and will spend much of today with him where he will have a private workout and throw to three Titans receivers — Courtney Roby, Bobby Wade and Sloan Thomas.

I'm anxious to see how he does with our receivers. They didn't do that with Cutler...did theY?

They will. The Titans are really going through all the right steps in making a sound decision. One thing we can be confident in is whoever we pick will be based on gathering as much info as possible. Add in Chow's knowledge we should be in good shape.

    I love this quote:

"When you're fixing to invest one of the top four, five, six, 10 picks, and you punch and you prod, you end up if you're not careful, you can put a sow's ear on a prom queen," Longhorns offensive coordinator Greg Davis said. "Because it's easier for a guy to say, 'I've got a question' than it is to say 'Dagummit guys, this guy can do it.'"

    So true.

I have faith, that we'll draft the best QB for our situation.

Lots of rumors the Jets will trade 1st round picks 4 and 29to NO for the 2nd pick and take Leinart. That makes sense for NO they will be able to get Brick or Williams at 4and still have 29 so we may not have a shot at Leinart. If we are going to pass on Leinart I sure would like to see us make that trade. We could have 2 firsts and a 2nd and get two players that could help right away plus our quarterback.

    morning sports talk

this morning on 104.5 one topic of course was the VY's workout. Wycheck made mention to Young completing 45 0f 50 passes but he also noted that alot of the completions weren't released till 1 or 2 steps after the receiver made his break.
Frank talked about how in college you have that window but in the Pro's you don't have the luxury of waiting for the break. If that be the case it can't bode well for Young in the scout's and GM's eyes.
Years ago even my grandmother used to say " Wait sank the ship!" (didn't realize she knew so much about football !?!?!)

I'd trade one spot with the Jets for their 2nd round pick. Unless the Titans really think Leinart is head over heals above Young and Cutler we would still get our QB and an early 2nd. Heck, if after NO doesn't pick Leinart (assuming nobody else trades with NO) we would be silly to not take a 3rd rounder if Leinart isn't the one we want and he is who the Jets are going after. Thats why you might hear Reese really talking up Leinart in the days before the draft. Of course he could talk up Young or Cutler also for the same reasons. I think the Jets will go QB.

If we trade our 1st to the Jets for their 1st and 2nd(3rd pick in 2nd round) let them keep their 1st at 29 we get 3 of the 1st 39 picks. Problem is they may be afraid someone else trades with NO and they lose Leinart. Oakland was all over Young yesterday at his workout and may want to trade up. We trade our 3rd for their 7th in the 1st and 2nd( #5 in 2nd #37 overall) we still get 3 of the 1st 39. Problem is if Leinart goes to Jets at 2, Young to Oakland at 3 Green Bay might take Cutler and we dont get the QB we want. We should only make a trade if we can get ourQB.
