thats the reason he was drafted and tried at OLB

edge rushers are a premium, it really pays to have a 3rd guy to rotate in.

We seem ok without him for now, so its the right call to shut him down for the rest of 2016.

Im still willing to wait for him another year. If he turns into another Colin McCarthy type whos just too injured all the time to matter then cut bait, but only a half a season in and we cant know that yet.

we're tied for 7th in the NFL for sacks. Which means we actually do create pressure. But sure lets draft some more pass rushers when our secondary makes Matt Barkley look like Aaron Rodgers

Secondary has to be #1 priority, but you can never have enough pass rushers

Agree that it is always good to have a rotation, but our Linebackers are actually very good at finding the run (inconsistent tacklers) and rushing the QB, its just they are bad in coverage which is why you know as well as i know every TE burns us. Getting a pass rusher in the first round instead of a CB is just bad imo

Sacks are for stat keepers. QB's drop back about 30 times a game. So we get a few sacks. How many times did we sack Luck and he comes right back on the next play and hits a 3rd and 13? We have to have pressure EVERY play - sack or not.

I want a CB with the second of our first round picks. I don't think there will be a CB good enough to justify the Rams pick. That has to be BPA and should be either Garrett, Allen, Williams, Peppers or McDowell (first 2 extremely unlikely obviously). John Ross has a chance to land on this list also.

But that second pick has to be CB. Plenty CBs will be deserving of that 14-20 spot, and most of them will still be available. Tabor, Humphrey, Jones, Lewis, Wilson

CB's don't cover TE's, LB's do. Did you watch the Colts last night against the Jets? The #1 receiver was their TE and he had 3 TD's, and the Jets got NO pressure on Luck. This guy runs about a 5.40, but he still managed to get open. You cannot let a QB sit back in the pocket and pick his targets. No CB can cover for very long.

I think the Jets have waaay to many issues to compre ourselves too. Most teams now put safeties on TEs, sort of like how sometimes we put Byard on a few TEs

Jabrill Peppers would be my first choice. Humphrey second. Jabrill can play well in coverage too.

I like Jabrill, but am skeptical. What's his position in the NFL? Can he get off NFL level blocks at his size around the LOS? He's been best around the LOS.

I rather land Garrett, Allen or McDowell with the Rams pick. WR tempting also.
