Good point but I think you are already starting to see that with guys like Chance no getting their guaranteed option year picked up and no guarantee KW is here next year. But I will be interested to see how he trims this down. But if people thought he was joking when he talked about accountability, just ask our fired special teams coach or Parrish Cox!

If you don't play up to your potential or aren't heading that way in a hurry, you won't be here for long!

I think we will see more of the same approach in free agency with the Jones and Matthews types over breaking the bank for the #1 guy in fa at a particular position.

 

Serious question, have any of the CB's from this years draft done well? I know Hargreaves is playing OK in Tampa, but don't know about any of the others. And he was a 1st rounder anyways and I'd rather have Conklin over him now.

 

Hargraves was getting burnt up last I saw....

 

I think Apple is playing alright up in NY at least, but he was also a 1st rounder.

My point is there aren't any 2nd round or on DB's that are playing at a high level their rookie year that I know of. It's fair to complain that we haven't gotten what we would like out of Dodd or Johnson, but there's plenty of other guys who have underachieved for other teams too.

It takes time to develop these guys for the most part.

 

Really not sure. Spent most of my time watching college football for draft pick prospects when I'm not watching the Titans. Ramsey looks like he's gonna need some development to become a Patrick Peterson type (if he gets there).

Yes, exactly. But while Ramsey is developing this year, he's still probably playing better than any of our current CB's and will be that much better next year.

Yes, Apple is playing pretty well for the Giants.

 

How does next years crop of DB's look? Apparently Florida has some pretty good ones, and as a Bama fan, I think Marlon Humphrey looks pretty solid. What about the kid out of USC?

 

What does ICBW stand for? It looks like a union name or something.

 

Humphrey makes me nervous. His D might be one of the most talented ever in college football so he gets a ridiculous amount of help from the pass rush. but he frequently has S help and as of a few weeks ago, his yards per reception was way too high. Add in that a lot of recent Bama CB's have not lived up to their billing and you can see the concern.

Adoree Jackson is a great athlete...but he's rougher around the edges right now. He's shown flashes...ecven baiting Browning into an INT while playing zone. He's also shown the ability to really turn and burn with anyone...but sometimes he's a little too overly aggressive. Can't remember the game...the one where he had all the TD's...return, int return and another in some capacity I think. He also got torched for a TD on the play before he ran the kickoff back for a TD.

He has as high upside as any cb, but more risk as well.
