Um...Munchak took over a team that went 6-10 and was 3 years removed from the #1 team in the AFC South as Fisher went 13-3, 8-8, then 6-10 before Munch took over. So he took a 6-10 team, went to 9-7, fell back to 6-10 and then to 7-9.

I agree that Munchak was a bad choice for a hire as was Mularkey and the only hope was that they could develop Locker into something and that CJ could carry them until then. Unfortunately, CJ got worse and Locker couldn't stay healthy and Kenny Britt couldn't play at a high level, got hurt and had off the field issues. Not much of an offense and much less of a D except for Verner. I don't think anyone on here (or anywhere else) could make the case that Munch's final roster was anywhere close to this roster.

Agree about expectations playing a factor for fans and ownership.

ya, missed a season in there of FG fisher.
I think plenty would argue the roster talents. The fact that this current team is outplaying the original expectataions (based on the talent limitations) doesn't automatically make it a better roster. I also will take into account t that talented guys like CJ quit after payday. Munch also started that last season 3-1 helping justify the playoff expectations, losses to 2-14 Houston and 4-12 jags hurt him.

Agreed, but roster talent to me has nothing to do with expectations, just how good they are. Are you discounting that we SHOULD have lost to the Lions and Bears? They basically dropped TD passes in the endzone we had nothing to do with stopping. Just more context.

Whiz showed no improvement....players did not buy in, in fact....they did not like him. He was stubborn with a system and almost got that rookie QB killed.
You are comparing Whiz and Mularkey.......that is a no brainer. Look at the results and the record.

I am saying that we probably should have lost to Detroit. I did think that Chicago was 1 of our possible wins this year.

I get the hate on Mularkey. I really do. I cursed them when they made the hire. I felt like they did a fake hiring process and went with the "easy choice". I also didnt think Mularkey earned the job, I felt he was brown nosing, or politicking behind the scenes. Regardless he got the job, I had to get over it.

NOW-- The team bought into him, he has, in 1 season changed the culture of the franchise. This is something that we have been hearing for 5 years prior that it was priority number 1, and it never happened until now.

Whisenhunt was as pitiful a coach as they made. Nobody liked him. The fans, players, media, nobody, and the record coincides with that. Mularky is quite the opposite. Players and media seem to like him, and fans are coming around, even people who refuse to like him are like "he doesnt suck that bad but he still sucks"

Munchak refused to hold his coaches accountable. He was fired for not wanting to make staff changes essentially. Mularky is quite the opposite. Hes already fired coaches in the middle of the year, and they actually cut a veteran player after sucking, which never happens with the Titans.

So if you take a list of "things wrong with the Titans 2010-2015", quite a large chunk of the things that would be on that list have been fixed by Mularky. He has a horrible coaching record, and a resume of being head coach of traditionally horrible franchises. He is here now, and has moved the needle forward enough to have earned a second year.

If he takes us to the playoffs next year, then he earns another year. You can hate on the guy all you want for not being the coach you want, but look at hugh jackson, and the list of coaches who were hired over the last 2-3 years that we would have wanted as our head coach, and you might feel a little better about Mularky.

Mularkey is 10x the Head Coach Whisenhunt was. That's a fact. You never really know about a guy until he coaches your team I guess.
