If we get Ryan + Bouye then sure, cut McCourty. Wouldn't care.

Why not? I expect to get 6-8 upgrades this year.

Right now I expect upgrades from our 2 first round picks and 4 free agents...minimum. And I think there is good chance we trade back from 5 and add a 2nd round pick who should also be an upgrade.

Let's say we go out and sign AJ Bouye, Logan Ryans, Eric Berry, and Ronald Leary in free agency. Then we trade back from 5, get a 2nd and now come into the draft with 3 top 50 picks. That would be at least 7 upgrades IMO.

Giants and Raiders turned themselves back into playoff teams with being very aggressive in free agency. Why shouldn't we? We have a ton of money to spend. Let's add some top talent instead of band aids!!!

 

Agreed, but maybe not in year 1 (though I'd expect at least one of them to...especially on ST).

 

While I want us aggressive in FA I doubt there is really any chance that the Titans go out and sign multiple tier one CBs in FA. If we do sign multiple guys at CB in FA it would probaly be one of the top guys (Bouye and Ryans) and then one of the second tier guys (Gilmore, Kirkpatrick, Claiborne, Munnerlyn) on a prove it deal like Amukamara got last season.

I'd also debate whether or not Leary is really that much of an upgrade on Spain and Klien and even if he is if he is enough of an upgrade to justify spending top dollar on him when we could just re-sign one of them for less money.

 

Multiple good CBs is going to be hard in FA. There are more teams with lots of cap space who need a starting CB than there are starting caliber CBs available in FA. We will do well to get one.

 

Those who are saying we need to keep McCourty have lost their damn mind or just refused to watch the games. He is terrible, and has been bad for years. No way he should be kept around.
