Yea... Expect to be dissapointed if these are your expectations. Thats like ~35-45 mill/yr+ in new money. I don't see us going all in like that this FA

    It would work in Madden

Also with that number, you are accounting for the big contracts. There are still the draft picks and a lot of depth positions that need to be signed. Backup positions for S, QB, TE, DL, ILB, OL, WR, etc. You are looking at $1.5-2.5 million each for guys like that.

So between those depth positions and the rookie deals you are likely spending $30 million. Then sign all those big name guys and the cap is gone.

The you have to realize that there will be stiff competition for free agents. Take a look at cap space around the league:

Lots of teams have lots of cap space

    Expectation? No. Hope...yes!!!

If we 'just' got Bouye and Ryans it's a home run!!!

But if you did all of what I proposed, yeah about $40 mill in money but we have $70 mil in cap space and can easily free up another $20mil+ with guys ho won't be here next year or the year after.

If we cut McCourty, McCain and Douglas net an extra $13 million.

And why won't the Pats re-sign Ryan? They have tons of cap space.

Add in Woodyard and what do you get?

I don't know if they will or not and neither do you so that is pointless to point out. Until a player is a free agent, they are all speculation. It also didn't make sense for them to give away Jamie Collins and trade Chandler Jones with no viable pass rushing alternative. But they did it anyway.

We have to sign a backup for 1.5-2.5 mill at all of those positions? Why? We have too many S's. If we cut one like Searcy and replace with a draft pick, doesn't that SAVE us money, not spend it? Same across most of those positions.

So according to you, any team below $30 mill in cap space will have zero cap this year just signing draft picks and backups?

And you do know the cap goes up every year, right?

It's just not realistic to think they will sign 5-6 UPGRADES at one position. Most of the time you get a couple of upgrades across the whole team in FA, if you're lucky. This isn't Madden.

Who said anything about 5-6 upgrades at one position?

It's funny, Giants fans were saying the same thing before their free agency spending spree last year. What's unrealistic? Signing one tier 1 free agent cb and a tier 2 free agent cb?

I will say this about that short list of FA guys being unrealistic. Not that we can't sign all of them, but multiple teams are going to be after those players and their all consider top coveted FA to sign.
I find it unrealistic that any one team signs 4 top FA.

Anyone have a top 10 or 20 FA available this upcoming offseason?

Leary is the same type of issue. Not a lot of starting experience, but Dallas didn't miss a beat when he filled in. Due to his lack of experience and starts, I don't think he'll break the bank and get as much as Zeitser. I think either is an upgrade and at worst, gives us an upgrade with Kline or Spain as quality depth!

Slight nitpicking but I want to make sure everyone is viewing the correct information concerning Ronald Leary (he was the starter for 2 seasons before Collins arrived):

Leary entered the 2013 offseason ready to compete for a starting job on the offensive line. He was getting first-team reps at left guard ahead of an injured Nate Livings, before needing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee during preseason.[6] After missing two weeks, he returned in time to start in the season opener against the New York Giants and proceeded to start in all 16 games at left guard.

In 2014, he earned the left guard starting role over Mackenzy Bernadeau and was a part of arguably the best offensive line in the NFL. His best game came against the Houston Texans, when he contained defensive player of the year J.J. Watt (see below).[7]

In 2015, Leary faced competition for his position from La'el Collins, one of the top prospect of the 2015 NFL Draft until rumors about a police investigation made him dropped and was eventually signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cowboys.

Although he suffered from a groin injury in training camp, Leary remained the starter at left guard in 3 of the first 5 games of the season, with his groin strain forcing him to miss the second and third games. Even though he tried to recover quickly from his health problems, he could not overcome them and it affected his play, opening the door for Collins being named the starter during the week 6 bye. Leary would be declared inactive for 10 straight games. He started in the last game against the Washington Redskins in place of an injured Collins, but left in the third quarter after suffering a concussion and was replaced by Mackenzy Bernadeau.
