Prior to last draft Id agree with you. But with Podesta and co using a new form of moneyball, they are using the trade chart against teams...like us!

There are a lot of ways to make up 300-400 points on the chart. Smart teams will TAKE a higher future pick. Not so smart teams give it up.

The Browns got that pick from us because they KNOW we really wanted Conklin. If there is a team trading up for a qb or rb or Garrett/Allen or whomever, I hope we can rake them over the coals and get better stuff.

I would love to trade back with the Browns and get pick 33...even if we had to add the rams 3rd round comp and a late pick. We can easily get the player we want still available after round 1 or trade back and recoup more picks.

There was alot of chatter that Cleveland had Conklin as their pick, and saw Tunsil on the board, heard our call, and assumed we really wanted to jump and get him (and end up saving alot of money) before the Dolphins or Giants had a crack at them..

I wish people would stop putting so much emphasis on what PFF thinks, ranks, says. They say a lot of silly things. Now when I see them introduce players in games with PFF ranks, it makes me laugh!!!

And if you don't believe me, believe Jeremiah!!! Pretty much exactly what I said about Hooker's tackling...before his article was released!

PFF should be worrying about suggesting a defensive player is ranked 135th in a basic skill and yet ranks him as a high pick. That doesn't make sense to me.

    It'd be like saying Foster can't cover a cold...but never mind that, he's a top 15 player.

I don't remember anyone thinking Cleveland wanted Conklin because they had an awesome LT. No QB, lack of WR, RB, OC, OG, defensive players....so why would they take a LT in round 1...the ONLY position they had locked down?

From what I've heard, they were just looking to get as many high quality picks as possible...not specifically targeting players, just draft picks. They succeeded.

The same situation with us... moving him to the right.

Can we start off with a safety (assuming his tackling is 'dicey') who can at least tip a ball (no discredit to byard) for a little while... right now teams know they don't have to run on us, as long as they torch our db's...

I dont buy it. They basically came out and said what they wanted to do and did it. And then pointed out how they did it. They did something most people think can't be done. When you're not attached to any particular player and just want a lot of draft picks...you can move all over the place and get a lot of picks...now and in the future.

If they were so concerned about RT, they could have kept Schwartz for cheap. And you don't go crazy on RT...especially when you have no QB!!!

We can...as long as that isn't in place of fixing our cb situation! If McCourty and Sims are two of our three starting CB's next year...we will have big problems!

    Don't read below @hammer

Sign a top notch cb in fa (or two...) and draft one (or two) in the first 3 rounds.

I wouldn't be crying if we signed Bouye and then drafted Hooker and Lattimore if they think Sims can play nickel well. Just an example.

But if we end up not signing a fa cb and draft someone in the third round and that is our only fix to our secondary (say we take Foster and Williams in round 1 and dont trade back)....we are not gonna be happy campers when people keep throwing all over us! It's the teams with QB's and good wr's we will need to beat in the playoffs!

I would send JRob a marriage proposal if we drafted Lattimore and Hooker...

One thing you would have for sure... Chemistry.

Trade down a few slots for a 2nd if possible and get Hooker then Lattimore. Then grab Gareon Conley in the 2nd!!!
