He has no athletics to make up for mistakes, he also gets washed from time to time or reads the wrong key all together. Late round- sure but he's not consistently running with the leagues worst TE.

That's a bold statement. I think you should watch some more tape on this kid. We're talking mid-to late round prospect. Of course he has flaws. To say this kid can't run with the league's worst TE tells me you haven't seen this kid in coverage. Pittsburgh game he had a bad coverage game, other than that he's been pretty solid.

I've watched him. I'll be interested in seeing him at the senior bowl, still don't see much besides a spot starter/rotational piece. And obviously I understand he's got flaws, that's why I said he would be a late 5th at best.

My main argument was his fit for this defense. Where does he start? Where does he hold water? Who does he take a job from?

Yet again we are talking about a late round prospect, I forgot the expectation every draft pick is a day 1 starter. The kid lives and breathes football, JRob exact type of player. His football IQ is off the charts. He does everything well, nothing spectacular. His filmwork, instincts, and passion make up for his "lack of athletism". Which his game speed more than makes up for it. He'll be a hell of a special team player early on, but definitely has the potential to be a starter in the league.

No the expectation is not day 1 starter. That's not the case, but when the scouts take his reports to JRob he will ask where does he fit, compare him to one of our current players and explain to me where to use him...

That's the patriot philosophy in scouting, the one that JRob came up in... the one he is installing with the Titans. Special teams, cool. That's fine. 53 man rosters, someone has to do it. But is he going to be better than player X at it?

Patriot philosophy also pick out players that over come terrible circumstances and yes "bleed football" types.

Man I really liked him for a while but after he said Andy Galik was the #1 player in the 2015 draft I kinda stopped keeping up with him.

We could use a backup ILB who has great instincts, should be very good on special teams, and a tone setter. We aren't drafting him to be a starter.

And I agree, his athleticism probably will keep him from getting above the 5th round. We'll see how slow he really is. That'll determine whether he can be a 5-7th or even UDFA status. I'm optimistic.

Can't have enough of those tough as nails breathe football type attitude players. Too bad not enough of them come with top 5 physical talent!

Absolutely, there's something to be said about that drive, even if it's just a locker room guy, it does hold some value.
