Neat. And our high picks mostly sucked. You can pick from almost anywhere and get good players if your gm is good.

The league has really got certain positions down to a science. Top 10 WRs are pretty much locks to be studs unless injuries derail their career. Top Edge players specifically come from early round one. Top DTs are easy evaluations.

Top tier QBs they have figured out (but there's also a weird stigma about QBs that kind of goes against traditional thinking so teams get gun shy)

Cbs tend to have a higher bust rate.

LTs have recently been pushed up because of athletics (to match the extremely athletic edge rushers) and that was likely a mistake because we've seen that fail a few times in the last few years or so.

Top 10 picks tend to be Qb, LT, Edge, WRs and CBs.

this makes no sense but ok

if we wanted a team of "best busts" we could trade our first rounder for the entire 7th round. Sure, none of them would be bad busts?

Still much more likely to get an elite player in the top 5 of the draft.

Who is the bigger bust... a WR that doesn't work out drafted in the top 10 or a WR drafted in the 2nd that doesn't work out?

People on here are acting like a top 10 pick is a lock. Seriously...

Nobody is a lock...It's all guesstimate...and we have ALL seen guys that were studs in College, fail miserably in the NFL...

the concept of 'biggest bust' is useless. getting too weighed down talking about this

i started off agreeing that we need an elite player more then depth. top pick more likely to be elite then later picks. therefore we should stay in the top 10 of the draft imo

No it's not a "lock" - However top talent, high ceiling, athletic players with game changer ability usually arnt available in the second.

You're often looking at players with similar but often lower ability and athletics in the second or later rounds. Elite pass rushers are clearly top heavy in the drafts.

That's not to say there arnt studs that come out of those rounds.

The major difference is you won't be finding Julio Jones in the second round. Size, Speed Freak with Elite talent and proven college production. That's a stud, didn't matter what the patriots thought... dimitrof saw him as the next elite WR and the trade up to go get him was absolutely worth it.

No. At 5, you should get not only a very talented player, but one ready to contribute year one. That's big for a borderline playoff team.

Their is not 1 player in this draft that if they were on the board at #5 that I wouldn't trade out of the 5 spot for as long as I got equivalent trade value chart for moving out.

I just don't see the elite talent in this draft....a top 5 pick should be a QB, LT, or pass rusher. We don't need Qb or LT so that just leaves a pass rusher. Personally I'm not a huge Myles Garrett fan and so I would trade out of the 5th spot no matter who is on the board.

Give me Barnett at #12 and Adoree Jackson in the 2nd for Myles Garrett and I do that trade all day. This draft is too deep at positions that we need to not trade down and accumulate more talent at the positions we need.
