"We know how annoying it is when we come back from a commercial break, kick off, and then cut to a commercial again. I hate that too," Goodell wrote. "Our goal is to eliminate it." - NFL.com

That commerical is actually one of the things i LOATHE in this sport.... That **** needs to go, no doubt!!

I know advertising is important, so many stakeholders in football (bigger rosters, bigger staffs, etc...) and everyone needs to get paid, but they defintely need to reduce all the breaks.

I actually start watching games 30 - 45m after kickoff to FF through them b/c I honestly just get bored.

Quality, not quantity... as in, less commercials but a bit pricier.

Be shocked if Goddell actually goes through with it? Surely this would mean less money?

Longer commercial breaks when they go to them.

Put advertising on the jerseys, its pretty simple. Soccer has known this for a long time now. Same money, less ad time. Also put ads on the walls around the stadium. Its a super simple concept, are the people in charged mentally challenged? I could up the revenue and im a nobody.

In a thread created at sometime in the past asking what could be done to shorten game times, this was my number 1 complaint. You score (touchdown or fieldgoal) it goes straight to commercials, come back and kick off, straight back to commercials. It is the worst part of the game to me. You have 5 minutes of commercials for about 30 seconds of actual game time. It is nothing less than annoying.

Its all because they don't want to f with tradition and put logos on the jerseys. I say screw that and sell the space.

Im a high level soccer coach and owner of my club. I'll gladly sell jersey space for the benefit of my club/teams.

But, this is acceptable in the soccer world. Apparently not in the nba or nfl.

The problem is they would just do that and keep the amount of commercials we have now. Maximize profit.

And so would i as a businessman. But, the question was how coul the balnce be made. We will never see a time when enough profit is enough. They will cut back on commercials with jersey and in game ads at first, but then 5 years later we'll have commercials and in game ads. Essentially, their is no fix to this problem, it's just the nature of this business. Welcome to the real world football fans, it's where we live.
