Instead of trading down from 5 we could trade up from 18 to grab a second top tier player. Face it, by 18 the best prospects are likely gone. Buffalo is a potential partner at 10. They are not in the best cap shape and have a number of open roster spaces. They could use some extra rookies.

He has been mocked as high as #6. If we want him, we'd have to get him there.

I think there's more value in moving back to the teens, get a very good DB and still end up with Njoku at #18 and a 2nd rounder. He doesn't come with the same blocking pedigree as Howard, but is just as good of a receiver.

Does anyone project OJ Howard to be Gronk-like?

He's not as big, not as good an athlete, doesn't have near the hands or attitude. I'm not trying to tear down Howard, but a TE at 5 must be Gronk or Jimmy Graham(pre patellar tendon) incarnate.

Especially how easy it is to find TEs as flex players nowadays.

I know our HC is a former TE and he will definitely have a Hard on for OJ, but the last time that happened we got ourselves a Bama Bust(Warmack). JRob knows better, and knows he can find TE value later on if he wants to recreate the Pats double barrel offense.
