Thank god that does not happen in North America

    Wait, never mind lol

I also love that they can't do an interview without name-dropping all their sponsors:

TV Guy -- "Well, Jimmy/Kyle/Bobby/Dale that was quite the race you ran today"

Racer "It sure was, the Tide-3M-O'Reilly's Dodge Charger sure was hot today. It is a good thing I made that last pit stop to get some fresh Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel"

Yeah and something tells me that jersey ads wouldn't actually do anything to reduce the amount or length of commercial breaks. It's just another way for the league to make money from advertisers.

The reason soccer does ads on uniforms and along the sidelines is just because of the game. The game of soccer doesn't allow for breaks during 45 min of action on either side of the half time break. So they have to get in their advertising somehow. Football, baseball, basketball, etc all do.

Revenue for sports businesses are a lot like taxes for the government. They do nto get rid of an old one once they bring in a new one.

The proposal is actually not to cut commercials. But to cut commercial breaks. So you still get 6 dick pill ads, they'll just cram them right in with the other 5 commercials every time they to to break.

They're looking to shave 5 minutes from an average 3 hours and 7 min game. It's a joke.

Im not endorsing the idea at all. But, it would definitely be worth it. You may not buy a jersey next year or the year after, but once it's a "thing" you will, just like most nfl fans. It's new and ugly, so it'll be dodged at first, but people will come around. As for lost revenue, that will be the pitch when selling to these advertisers, so they'll pay the difference. Nfl is to popular for this move not to make money. Again, I don't like the idea at all, but think it could help with commercials, temporarily.

Great news, I'm glad they are addressing the problem with commercials after extra point, then again immediately after the kickoff. That is always a bad drag both at home and in person at a stadium.

Almost as bad as the last two minutes of an NBA game

I've never watched more than 20 mins of an NBA game, repetition and this are the main reasons.

That's the main reason coaches get all those timeouts. Allows for more commercials.

Same reason the 2 minute warning exists. Allows for a commercial break at a time people are unlikely to turn away, unless it is a blowout.
