The Jags getting Fournette or Cook would make them pretty tough. Especially if Bortles corrects his mistakes this offseason.

The Jags being smart & taking Fournette is my biggest concern. Bortles played BAD last year. If they get a running game going to take some pressure off him they can be dangerous with that defense.

The same could be said for the Colts. If they get a solid run game going to take the pressure off Luck they will be much harder to beat.

I honestly believe both these teams got much better in the off season. Not with the crazy spending, but with the Front Office moves they made. I believe both teams have better management in place. I believe both teams will try to address the oline & run game this season. I believe these improvements will make it harder to beat these teams. They have lived & died with the pass lately. If both address the run game; we will have a harder time with them. I also think this is a reason we worked to continue to improve the run defense.

Mahomes will be way more successful than Manziel because he can actually throw the ball. Dual threat Qb's rarely are elite in the NFL. Cam Newton and that's about it. I wouldn't call Russell Wilson anywhere near elite.

It is a weird thing to say because Manziel is a lighter skinned Manziel.

Manziel could throw, one of his problems was that he couldn't throw on time, he was strictly a streetballer, you couldn't coach progression to him because he broke off plays his entire HS/college/NFL career.

If you ever watched Mahomes, he did the exact same thing. He would have to make 30-40yd throws to gain 5 yards because he would spin and reverse out of the pocket every other play. It drove the coaching staff crazy his inability to make the easy, on time throw within the flow of the offense.

I think the feeling is that so few QB's these days actually have any time to sit back and learn the NFL game before being told to sink or swim. Most guys just get thrown to the wolves their first season or two. But giving a guy a season or two to learn the game, figure out NFL defenses, and work on their mechanics and footwork could do wonders for them.

Add in the fact that JimmyG has been mentored by Tom Brady and coached by Belichik and you have teams falling all over themselves at the idea of him.

Because of all this, his chance of succeeding early is far greater than a rookie. It'd make sense for a team to give up some draft capital to get him over taking a shot on some mediocre prospect who will never get a chance to learn before getting obliterated by some 300 lb defensive linemen.
