Definitely a bigger need but you have to love lattimore as well and he has to be available. Just saying if you have hooker as a future all-pro guy everyone has a need for that type of player.

My players for 5 would be...

    Hooker
    Garrett
    Adams
    Lattimore
    Allen
Fournette (if his ankles check out)

Yea that's true but the coaching staff may very well believe Byard can be an all pro in this league eventually.

And I personally don't believe the two can't be on the field together. I think they are different types of players back there. Think they'd make a good tandem.

How do you have John Ross on there, and not Jamal Adams and Malik Hooker?

Also anyone outside of the top 5 of the board is a reach. The higher up they are, the bigger the reach. Drafting half the guys on your list would be considered significant reaches of 5 or more spots. At 5th overall, you can't afford to make moves like that with as many holes as we have and not get some extra draft picks out of it at least.

I agree. I think Adams is the safer, more well-rounded, and probably more likely pick. However, I think Hooker has more upside to take it to that Ed Reed level of play.

I also think he is a better fit with Byard, in regards to what we've seen from Byard so far. Obviously he was a FS and a good one in college, but he hasn't proven he can play at the same level as he does SS yet. Byard was far from a guy you would think could make that transition before this year too, but to see how well he has developed in the box leads me to believe he can be something special there over the next couple years, and I'd like to see the Titans leave him there.

Even if it's a poorer man's version, potentially having a Reed/Polamalu 2.0 tandem really excites me. Especially with the addition of Ryan and most likely some corner(s) in the draft. Our secondary can go from our weakness to our strength.

Yeah, I wouldn't really be a fan of having Adams, Byard, and Cyprien as they are all more SS types. I'd prefer more of a coverage safety if they are going to go in that direction. Adams will make a heck of a player though.

Well it is 'his" list. That's what the thread is about. Your own personal take.

I based it off of need. We don't need a Safety as bad as we need a CB, WR, ILB, DE, and TE. I also didn't include RBs either. Plus my personal opinion is I think Ross would provide a bigger immediate impact to the team than any of the safeties will. He would be our #1WR on day 1. His best asset is getting separation and he has reliable hands. I think a lot of ppl sell his talent and contribution pretty short because of his size. But it's not like the guy is 5'6 or 5'8. He is 5'11 with a 37 inch. Same height as Odell Beckham and taller than Antonio Brown but with more speed and he is more elusive than both. It's not like he is going to go up against 6'2+ corners all day in the NFL. Most of those guys won't even be able to keep up with him anyways. On top of that he is so quick getting off of the line of scrimmage you would be taking a big risk trying to press this guy. Some games he can be bottled down by physical corners but so what. Name me a WR that hasn't and I'd tell you you'd be comparing Ross to one of the best Wrs in the game and that's just fine with me. I'll take him.

At #5 you want to draft a Qb, LT, or elite pass rusher. In this draft Garrett is the only one who falls into that category.

Trade down is the best option.

If we can't then you have to look for the next best talent regardless of need and you have to take into account the depth of the draft.

I think Howard, Davis, Hooker are unique players in this draft.

Howard just has freakish athletic ability and is that true dual threat player who can be on the field for every play....we used 2 TEs more than any other team...what an upgrade Howard would be to Fasano.

Davis has the size you like in a WR and is the most NFL ready WR in this draft. His route running is excellent as are his hands. He might not have elite speed but he is fast enough. He would be an immediate upgrade to our WR group. I really like the fact that his head coach was an ex NFL wr coach. He also had a great personal story which shows his hard work and dedication.

Hooker is unique because of his ball hawking skills. The kid can go side line to sideline. I certainly see him as an Ed Reed type of centerfield fs. We played a ton of 3 safety sets last year. I could easily imagine a lineup of Cyprien, Byard, and Hooker being on the field a ton. Let Hooker play over the top of Hilton and Hopkins.

With the depth at CB I just don't think taking one at #5 is worth it...I don't see Deion Sanders in this draft.
