Your reasons for including Howard, Davis, and Hooker is the same reason why I added Ross. He is a unique talent. You won't find many complete WRs that can run a 4.22. I really can't find one glaring weakness of his. What exactly does Davis do that separates him from Ross? Ross will never have Davis' size but Davis will never have Ross' quickness and speed. Besides that they are pretty comparable in most areas.

    This is why:

He makes one (admittedly spectacular) circus catch, and the rest of the game he was locked down and abused by NFL caliber corners. He gets pushed off his routes, drops balls, and doesn't just run away from people the way you would expect a 4.22 guy to blaze past defenders.

To be fair to him, his QB didn't help him much on some of the throws, but there's a lot of flaws to his game. He definitely has a ton of potential, I just seriously doubt we're the team to bring that out of him.

The guys I think worth it at #5 in no order are Garrett, Allen, Solomon Thomas, Jamal Adams, Hooker, and Lattimore.

None of the WRs are worth the pick but we absolutely have to grab one of Davis, Ross, or Williams with our second selection. I'm a fan of OJ Howard he should be a very good pro, but I don't see how you can justify taking a TE top 5 when we already have Delanie at the position. The value just isn't there to me, we could use the help elsewhere.

Safety is starting to look out of the equation with the Cyprien signing and we are very high on Byard. That leaves Allen, Thomas, and lattimore as the best options at 5 assuming Garrett will be gone. Lattimore should be a stud in the league, the guy is a freak athlete and makes plays. However his injury history is scary and this class is very deep at corner.

With this said I think Allen and Thomas would be huge additions to this team and it would most likely be the best player available. Both are beasts against the run and can also rush the passer. This would really solidify our d line and both guys are fairly safe picks that still have a ton of upside. Besides us our division is not well known for offensive line play so why not take advantage of the other teams' weakness.

In this scenario we would grab a stud d lineman, whichever wr falls to us or we trade up to get, and then you can look to add a corner to compete in the 3rd. Logan Ryan at the 1 and Mccourty, Sims, and 3rd rounder battling for the 2nd starting spot isn't that bad and is definitely an improvement from last season.

Everybody has an off day every now and then. This is rare footage of Ross dropping a few passes. But by no means did he get abused to the extent that your saying. I saw him get rerouted a few times but nothing alarming. He still consistently got off line of scrimmage and created separation. I saw more awful qb play than anything else. Sorry I'm not buying that he will get abused by bigger DBs

His QB play was pretty bad in that game. But again, this discussion is about guys worth the #5 pick.

This game of him playing against NFL level corners just does not scream top 5 pick to me and it's more of the same against Alabama. I think he's a 1st rounder for sure, but I can't put him up there with the likes of Julio, Larry Fitz, AJ Green, Andre Johnson, or Mike Evans when they were coming out. If you draft a WR in the top 10, they need to be a stud in every facet.

    Ok Al Davis, lol.

Nonetheless, safety is one of our biggest needs. Kevin Byard is too unproven and Cyprien is a huge liability in coverage for us to be comfortable with our current rotation. We should focus on improving our secondary, specifically in pass coverage and going out and getting Hooker or Adams significantly helps that.

Arizona, USC, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State are some of the schools he torched last year. He can do damage against NFL talent. None of those prospects you mentioned were a stud in every facet of the game. Every prospects has something they could be better at.

    Garrett if available (won't be)
So, Lattimore at 5, hope for Foster at 18. OR take Foster at 5 and best CB available at 18.

We have to get a receiver 1st round. It would be idiotic to go into next year with Matthews, sharpe, and maybe a third round wr as your options. We have to get weapons for the best player on our team
