Id love to have him in the 3rd and foster in the 2nd. These are 2 guys that shouldn't fall that far because they are great football players, but it happens every year. They would make our d truly scary to play against

Foster will be in a halfway house in 4 years and Peppers will be working on Coach Harbaugh's staff at UofM lol

Heard this on sports talk radio yesterday driving between my jobs. Came into the conversation halfway thru but something he mentioned I hadn't heard before.

He said they confirmed thru the NFL Peppers test was a positive dilute, not a negative dilute. As he explained, a positive dilute means they tested him positive for something even though the sample was diluted though they aren't saying what it was (or maybe they can't tell due to the dilution). They did not mention whether Foster's was also a positive or negative dilute.

Anyone hear of that difference before or have any other knowledge about the specifics of the dilute test for either of them? Al I keep reading is that a dilute test (at their levels) is considered a positive test which is confusing if they then categorize these things as a positive dilute or negative dilute. And I take a negative dilute to be the only possible way you COULD have a situation where a player seriously overhydrates and dilutes the test 'accidentally.'

So of course, as I mentioned with Foster's explanation, they all say the same thing...I was sick so I drank a ton of water. If what I heard on the radio is accurate (and he's usually pretty accurate regarding such things - he's a friend of Bill Parcells), Peppers' explanation is garbage. And if you put two plus two...didn't he say something like he added 15+lbs of muscle? Maybe PED's?

These guys are knuckleheads and it will cost them big bucks. On the other hand, I'm not sure they will fall that much. I can't see Foster falling out of round 1 and I think Peppers range before this was mid/late first - mid/late second. I think he still goes in that range...just probably more 2nd round for him. It's possible he falls into round 3...

I don't know enough about the difference between the two. You would think these prospects know enough about it, why draw the attention to themselves? Biggest job interview of their careers at stake.
Its funny you say could cost them millions, but I guess that's why they do crazy things, they don't want being sick and underperforming costing them millions....Ironic really

My 'impression' is that maybe Peppers used some 'help' to pack on some muscle so he'd be 'safety' sized at the combine then planned on covering it up with a diluted test and just saying, i was sick. That's the pessimist in me.

Could these guys have 'accidentally' done this? Possible but very hard to believe with that much money riding on this. And you'd think their agents would be all over them during the combine to make sure nothing goes wrong. But Peppers people sounded like they expected this because he was drinking so much water. So why didn't they STOP him? Maybe because that was the plan all along?

Like I said with Foster (though Foster messed this up twice), how do you mess up the biggest job interview in your life? It's not like they caught them with some 'gotcha' question on the white board, these are things they have known for YEARS were coming!

    It sickens me!

Totally agree, someone should be guiding them this close to the draft... Beyond stupid some of them I guess

Guidance is something the majority of these guys have lacked since being brought into the world.
